TW: SOME QUIRK DISCRIMINATION
***
Walking through the concreted building and moving up the floors until they made it to the fifth, entering a large, lit room with several windows, Tenya made his way to the tall, black rocket ship shaped bomb, tapping his clenched knuckles against the metal to hear an echoing from his tap, meaning the weapon they were guarding was hollow.
"Papier-mâché, hm..." Tenya hummed to himself, his helmet in his hand as he rubbed his chin, examining what they could do with this information.
The thought of Tenya being a villain for their training was something he was not fond of, but as All Might was speaking to them before entering, their teacher mentioned about thinking through the perspective of a villain, making him realize that this would prove to be experience and learn the mind of how a villain thinks. They needed a plan to stop Bakugo and Uraraka's quirks... But how...?
"Shinso-kun, would you mind explaining to me what your quirk is? I do not recall seeing it during our quirk assessment test yesterday with Aizawa Sensei." Tenya turned to his lavender-haired classmate, who blinked up at him from leaning against a pillar in the room.
"Oh, that's because I didn't use it for the test." Shinso blinked calmly again, which quite shocked Tenya.
'He... He didn't use it...?!' Tenya's jaw gaped open at Shinso.
"It's not a physical quirk, so it wouldn't have helped me in the assessment." Shinso explained, rotating his wrist around as he spoke.
Oh, that's why...
"My quirk is called Brainwashing, it's pretty self-explanatory." Shinso pushed himself off the pillar, smirking as he held his hands out, narrowing the cold edge in his purple eyes and wearing a frightening expression while he continued, "But, I can't just mind control anyone. They have to reply to me in order for it to take effect."
With Shinso's description of what his quirk was, Tenya hesitated. A single word out of his mouth meant that he would be under his classmate's control, right? Would a nod always cause the trigger? How could he reply to Shinso and make it clear that he understood? But... thinking back to yesterday, he, Bakugo, Kirishima and Uraraka all talked to the purple-haired teen, and they didn't know about his quirk then, so... They had to trust each other.
"Interesting..." Tenya finally replied, waiting a heartbeat to feel something take over his mind, but nothing happened.
Shinso didn't activate his quirk.
"Took you a while to reply. Figured you'd hesitate." Shinso crossed his arms across his chest, still sporting the smirk on his lips as Tenya started to feel tremendous guilt.
"My apologies! I was only-" Tenya bowed to Shinso, begging for his forgiveness.
"No, no, you're fine. I'm used to it." Shinso didn't show any signs that he was annoyed with him, instead asking, "So, what about your plan on taking out Bakugo and Uraraka, hm?"
"Um... Well, I was originally thinking with your scarf and now knowing your quirk, you could stay here and shelter the bomb while I go down and fight Bakugo-kun and Uraraka-kun!" Tenya stood straight up, holding his head up high and placing his hand to his chin, laughing similarly to how a villain would, "Like the villains we are!"
"I don't see any problem with that except that I think Uraraka might know what my quirk is." Shinso agreed like the pawn... henchman... partner he was, adding the part with Uraraka and making Tenya stop laughing in his tracks.
"She knows...?" Tenya turned on Shinso questioningly.
"She might. I used it on her during the entrance exam, so she could potentially remember." Shinso nodded in confirmation.
