November 18, Tuesday, day 2/30

As the day finally ended, there was a commotion outside again. I peeked my head expecting to see Sakusa but instead, it was his cousin, Komori. I was a bit hesitant to speak to him since I felt bad about the interrogation we had given him yesterday.

"Hey, L/n-san. " Komori waved as he entered.

"Heyy, Komori-kun."

"Yeah, sorry about this, but Sakusa's got practice today. He told me to tell you to go home without him and that hashito is waiting."

It wasn't unlike Sakusa to be too lazy to tell me himself, but I still wanted to make sure he wasn't hurt or something. " Oh, sure. Is he okay?"

"Who? Sakusa? No, he's fine. Tuesday's are just his turn to set up the gym so he asked me to tell you."

I nodded my head and we bid each other goodbye.

Could I really sneak into the gym?

No.

I stood up to leave but then had an idea. I ran out of the school, getting called out by teachers a few times, and went to the driver's side of Hoshito's car.

"Hey, would you mind dropping me off at the convenience store and then bringing me back?" I asked politely.

"Sure, Miss, get in." He smiled and unlocked the doors. "May I ask why you're returning, though?"

" I don't want Sakusa-kun to walk home alone."

I was smiling to myself the whole way to and from the store and waved Hoshito goodbye, handing him a snack I bought for him.

"How did you know I liked these, Miss?"

"Lucky guess?"

Sakusa POV.

I am so pissed right now. Hm, not necessarily pissed, but very annoyed. This is the third time I've spiked improperly all because I keep looking at the damn bleachers. And the problem is that I'm not looking for the 'little birdie', I'm looking for Y/n, and I know I'm looking for her.

Who am I kidding? there's no reason she'd be up there. There's, like, three locks per door, and she'd get frustrated after realizing there's more than one, and then she'd scream at it and give herself away.

I raised the bottom rim of my shirt to wipe the sweat away as I walked to the bench holding water bottles.

But, just to add to my frustration, I don't even know why I told her about my mother during lunch. In fact, I don't know why I've told her anything about me.

When I look at her, I get really annoyed because I know she's about to say something weird or something clever, but the moment she actually opens her mouth I just want to listen to every word.

And every time we have those moments of silence between us, I just feel like I need to tell her about me. All my secrets, all my thoughts, it's gross.

I must've been correct that day she asked me what kind of animal we'd be. She is definitely a fox. Or maybe a snake.  Now that I think about it, she might be right to say she's a cat. Cats are mean.

No, Y/n can actually be nice sometimes. Well, a lot of the time.

I just can't wait to get home so I can take a shower and muster up the damn courage to ask her.

---

I threw away the tissue I used to open the gym doors and started walking home.

y/n? There she was, sitting on the front bench of the school. She was sketching something in that art book she's got and had a white plastic bag full of things sitting beside her.  As I neared her, I saw she wasn't wearing her blazer over the dress shirt of our uniform.

It is 13 degrees outside.

"Are you stupid?" I asked. "Where's your jacket?"

She looked up at me and shivered loudly. " It's not that cold." I could hear her teeth chattering, damn.

She stood up, wearing that same smile she always does, and handed me the plastic bag. "Here, I figured you'd be hungry after practice."

I took the bag because I have gloves on but furrowed my brows when we began walking. Again, I have no idea why she makes me feel like I need to do this, but I took off my winter blazer and handed it to her.

She was facing forward and didn't even notice until I poked her shoulder with it.

"here."

"Ah th-thank you."

"What happened to yours?"

Obviously, it was a confession. " I l-left it in Ho-Hoshito's car."

I sighed and also unwrapped my blue scarf, throwing it around her shoulders. She smiled and shoved her face in it, which I didn't necessarily find disgusting, but I was particularly happy about it either.

"So warm~" She muttered deeply into the fabric. How cute.

(⊙_⊙)?  I have no idea why I just thought that.
