Fairy Tail, Fiore's strongest magic guild. A loud bunch of wizards full of spirits and strong powers. Among these wizards, there is a special Celestial wizard, Lucy Heartfellia. With a heart full of light and warmth for her loved ones, she's truly one of the most beloved members of the guild.
It had been a few months since the guild was rebuilt after the Alvarez war. And throughout it all, their bounds were as strong as ever. With that, feelings were in full bloom now that the fighting was over. Levy and Gajeel had finally made it official and were engaged. Juvia and Gray were living together. Erza would often go out with Jella and things between them seemed to be heading in a positive direction. Lucy was the only one who seemed to be lonely lately. Natsu and Lisanna had rekindled their feelings for one another and were now in a beautiful relationship. Lucy was happy for them, as was everyone in the guild.
Though now that everyone was getting into romantic relationships, Lucy was spending less and less time with the team, outside of the missions they would still go on together. She found herself going on outings by herself more often.
On one day in particular she was heading to the next town over to pick up a new book she'd been dying to get her hands on. She was over the moon when she found out it was so close. It was a bit of a walk but she was willing to go the extra mile for a good read especially after Levy had raved to her about it.
With Plue, one of her dearest spirit friends, by her side, she happily made her way to the bookstore. She was rambling to her friend about this book when she heard shouting close by. Being concerned that someone might need help she headed towards the ruckus, it would seem her years with Natsu had rubbed off on her. She was shocked when she arrived, it was members of Sabertooth. The twin dragon slayers to be more specific were currently fighting a group of other mages. From what she could quickly gather, they seemed to be a group of bandits.
Lucy without hesitation jumped into the fight, transforming into her Taurus star dress. "STAR DRESS: TAURUS!" She chanted glowing brightly, before appearing in her star dress with a massive axe in hand. She swung it around knocking a row of the bandits out at once. "Sting, Rogue, now!" She shouted out. As if on cue they both let out a dragon roar finishing them off. Lucy deactivated her spell before turning to face the brother slayers.
"Thanks for the assist, Blondie!" Sting said happily showing off his famous smile. Rogue just nodded politely as he stood next to Sting.
"It was nothing, also sorry for just diving in without a word. I just reacted, you know how it can be? How about as an apology," She thought for a second placing a finger on her chin before speaking up again. "I'll invite you guys to a coffee?" She said rubbing the back of her neck with a small, slightly embarrassed smile on her face. The two decided to take her up on the offer. The trio waited for the guardsman to take care of the bandits, before heading to a coffee shop not too far from where they had fought.
"So what brings a fairy all the way to the sabers den anyways? Also, you don't have to pay for us, Blondie. If anything we should be treating you for helping us." Sting said as he followed the celestial mage, Rogue walking quietly behind the two of them, seemingly not listening or caring for their conversation.
"Please I insist, and to answer the question, that would be some books. I've been looking everywhere for this one specific book everywhere! That's when the bookkeeper in Magnolia, told me I could find a copy here. So I took a day trip to come and find it. I'll probably end up picking up a few others since I came all the way." She spoke brightly just thinking of all the new books she might find, at this point they had reached the coffee shop.
"I heard you really like to read, and that you're even writing your own book." Rogue finally spoke softly as they stepped inside the shop.
"No way that's so sick! Is that true?" Sting asked the celestial mage with a curious expression plastered on his face.
Lucy got quite flustered a row of blush growing onto her cheeks, as they sat down at an empty booth. A waitress gave them some menus and water, before walking off. "Y-yeah it is true, Imma assume Yukino was the one who told you?" She looked up at Rogue who just nodded his head in response. "It's actually being edited as we speak. So hopefully in a few months, I'll finally be able to publish it." Lucy chuckles as she fiddled with her keys. But the boys could tell by the expression on her face, that this was something she was genuinely passionate about.
The trio enjoyed their coffee over small talk. They chatted about how their guild lives have been since they last saw each other. Lucy even found out Sting and Yukino had become an official couple just last week. She knew of her fellow Celestial wizard's feelings towards the slayer, so she was glad things were working out for them. She thought about giving her a call soon to catch up as well.
In the end, the boys convince her to split the bill before she could get ready to head off towards the bookstore she told them about. But before she could get farther from the front door, Sting's hand suddenly stopped her.
"Blondie why don't you let Rogue show you around a bit? He's also a huge bookworm too, so he can show you to some of the bookstores here in town." He pushed Rogue closer to Lucy, before turning his back and beginning to walk away. "I got a guild to run, you kids enjoy yourselves now!" Sting shouted, waving goodbye as he dashed towards the Sabertooth guild hall, a grin on his face that could outshine the very element he controlled.
Leaving Lucy all alone with Rogue.
What could possibly go wrong?
