Micheal looked at the invitational card bestowed upon him by Richter. A mere four hours ago he was being dropped into the battle of Typhon and now he was on the IMS Thermopylae, he was on the path to becoming an Apex Predator. Blisk stepped up to the microphone and spoke to the few people like Micheal who would be doing the training and boot camp to join the Predators. "'I kill you, I'm better' This is the motto of sorts for the Apex Predators," Blisk said. There was a small podium set up on the flight deck of the ship, behind Blisk stood Viper and, the second in command of the Predators, Slone.
"You are here today because one of the Predators felt you worthy of becoming like us. Whether through your actions, or a mere instinct in one of us, you have been selected." There were around thirty or forty people here. Micheal, although
not being near battle or danger, was still scared for his life.
Nothing had changed besides his defection.
"For the next five weeks of your life, you will be enduring training, challenges both solo and team-based, sim-training, and last but very not least, Pilot and Titan combat against those here today."
From the body language coming from those around him after that last statement, Micheal could tell he was not the only former infantryman.
Blisk stepped back and allowed Viper to take the mic. "As many of you probably know, from word of mouth or firsthand experience, I am an elite pilot for these mercenaries. My job is target elimination, aerial targets mostly."
Micheal had heard Viper was guarding a carrier during the Battle of Typhon. To be trusted with an entire carrier himself must mean he is as good as ten maybe twenty or thirty pilots.
As Viper spoke, Micheal thought of the other attending Predator, Slone. Slone was too, an elite pilot using her Ion class to demolish innumerable enemies in her time. No wonder she is the second in command.
When Micheal clocked back into the speeching he heard the final words said by Blisk and further the orientation "Welcome to the Predators, get ready for your training."
After the crowd of pilots quieted they were led away to their new living spaces, two per room.
Micheal was placed into a room with a man called Leon. The given room was fairly large, definitely enough space for three people let alone two, There were beds in either corner on the opposing wall from the entrance, a bedside table, and a wardrobe were adjacent to the bed and each other. The rooms themselves were clearly on a transporter, a dark black metallic floor, water and waste pipers around the edge of the ceiling, and general filth expected on the cabin of one of these large carrier ships.
Micheal dropped his trunk by the bed and kicked off his shoes, he laid down and thought to himself, nothing specific, though his thoughts were interrupted when Leon stepped in.
