The ceremony had concluded and the preparations for the reception were beginning. Everyone had begun to congregate in a large open space with a band playing their instruments in perfect harmony. It was a beautiful configuration and you couldn't have asked for anything better. Sometimes you worried about how overbearing the Madrigals were, but there were times, like this one, when their craziness was a pleasant surprise. With Camilo's words ringing in your mind, you locked your arm with his and walked up to a dressing room to change into a more maneuverable dress.
You raced behind a room divider and changed swiftly, Camilo's back turned to you. He had no reason to but the thought was cute. As you were changing, you heard Camilo mumble something to himself - it was barely audible and he didn't even seem to know what he was saying; nothing more than a quiet murmur. You slowly walked out it meet him in your 'party dress and noticed he had changed his outfit slightly as well, nothing too dramatic, but enough for you to notice instantly.
Instead of his formal jacket being tucked in like Abuela had requested, it was now much looser and open; the way you knew he would've wanted it to be. "Camilo? You ready to go?" You asked, your dress slowly flowing with the movements of your body and hips as you twirled to show it off. Camilo couldn't help but stare, you were gorgeous. More than gorgeous, you were everything Camilo had ever wanted! Words cannot describe the amount of pure euphoria he felt in that very moment. You were his. After all this time, his.

The music boomed through the walls as the guests made their way to the dance floor, some with drinks in hand. A few minutes in and it was time for the newly-wedded couple to make their way down to the main event. The people parted like the Red Sea as you and Camilo, arm-in-arm, made your way to the middle of the dance floor. The music thumped as everyone began to regather together, dancing joyously. Camilo latched onto your hips and swayed his own with yours along to the rhythm of the song blasting your eardrums. Your side whipped with every rhythmic beat the song hit, Camilo still holding on tight. One arm made its way up to your face and cupped it gently, turning you around to face him.
Your lips locked with his and you kissed for a moment before you were pulled away to dance with Mirabel. She cradled your hands lovingly and flew around to the song; she held the frilled edges of her dress and tossed them around, dancing in heavenly ways that you'd rarely seen from her. Following suit, you also started to twirl and toss your dress skirt around in scenic and rhythmic mannerisms. How beautiful you too must've looked.
Eventually, all the girls in the family were lined up, skirt dresses in hand, waiting for the next song to come on. The music began to bare its tune and the girls began. Swaying and dancing in circular, trained movements. Arms turning and flowing gracefully yet violently as the movements only grew more intense with the song. Your feet slammed on the ground with every passing minute as the beat continued over and over; the air gushing through your hair with elegance and poise - bang! The song ended abruptly as the girls' feet slammed to finish. Everyone around began to cheer and praise the dance moves and how coordinated everything was despite no formal prior training.
Puffed and slightly out of breath, you trudged to Camilo's side, his hand tracing your waist suggestively. You chuckled and slapped his hand away before offering to get him a drink. He accepted and you raced off to find the bar. The rest of the reception and dinner was seamless and nothing was out of the ordinary; it was the most perfect yet enjoyable wedding your ever seen. The night ended and everyone peeled off home, leaving you and Camilo as the last ones back to Casita. Once you arrived, you noticed how some of the family seemed to be avoiding you. Not in a rude way, per se, more in a playful, jokey way. You didn't understand it, but ignored it for Camilo's sake; everything had been going too perfect for something this petty to ruin it.
