HIGHSCHOOL! AU

(Barats + Female! Reader)

('+' here means semi-platonic, but this doesn't applies to some since it may have a different meaning. Since it's semi-platonic it's not necessarily romantic.)

"Okay Class Dismissed."

Three long awaited words finally came out, as students pack their supplies at a speed that could rival lightning. After that, each student either walked or bolted down the halls, some faint animal growls at the distance. Ms. Eudora rolled her eyes at her students antics, hearing shuffling from the desks. The professor rose a brow, being met with 2 students remaining.

One of the two students was currently sleeping, with visibly hanging darkened eyebags, while the other seemed to hesitate whether to leave him alone or wake him up. Soft snores was heard from the student as she sighed, "[Name], can you wake him up for me?"

The girl hesitantly nodded as she gently shook her small friend's body, "Psst... Wake up..." She continued to shake faster and stronger. The small make groaned as he once again rests on the table.

"Did Barats stay all night again dearie?" [Name] nods to her professor's question, "Why?" The female student began to trail off her words.

"Well... You see-- Uh. I do not know either." She rubs her neck sheepishly as Ms. Eudora sighs, raising her hand, a small bolt of lighting coming into contact with her small student -- which caused him to open his shocked eyes, as he hissed in pain.

"WHAT IN TH- Oh Hi ma'am..." Barats voice cracked, his tone a bit tired, yet he was awake. His darkened eyebags were visible and worse than both student and teacher expected. His bloodshot eyes scanned the room before mumbling curses under his breath.

"Class ended already?..." He tiredly chuckles, as his statement was followed by a yawn. Ms. Eudora remained silent, as she began placing away important equipment.

"Would you both be a dear and close the windows?" Their professor continued on, as [Name] nods, and so does Barats (in a drowsy manner), both working to close windows and their blinds. Barats closes a couple of lower windows, before straining to reach the one on the middle. As he continued straining he was suddenly lifted off the ground, by none other by his friend.

Barats felt his small body lifted up, to close the out of reach windows along with their blinds. The smaller male slowly pulls the last blind, clipping the small ring into a hook after letting go - letting himself get caught by [Name].

"Thank you both for your assistance."

Ms. Eudora leads both students out of the classroom - locking the door with a special type of key. The professor then lightly smiles, waving as she floats away to the halls. With their professor gone, Barats sloppily puts back his things, most things missing the bag itself. His packing was followed by a couple of yawns until he can finally go back home. Barats tiredly steps out of the class, a faint 'Wait Up!' being heard from [Name].

Because of her small friend's slow speed, it did not take too long for [Name] to catch up, "So what did you stay up all night for?" His bloodshot gaze turned to his taller friend,

"...Hmmm..." A yawn cut off his thoughts, "Detona... Was... Very loud." He grumbles as his eyes got heavier, his blinks getting longer. Right after his statement, [Name] was hit with realization,

"Speaking of it... Where is Detona?"

"Hm... Detona..." With his exhausted voice, he tried to call out to his Dino friend, as [Name] vigilantly looks around, holding and preventing her friend from falling at any moment. Fortunately, after Barats' call, sudden footsteps alarmed both as a roar of joy came out from his 'Dino'.

Detona gurgles and ran around circles on both of the students, as [Name] looks down to Barats, whom she slowly picked up. Detona let out a confused bellow, as the female placed her friend on the dino. Barats laid side down, as he clung to his dear companion, with [Name] making sure her friend falls off.

The school entrance was almost devoid of students nor teachers, with a couple ones passing just outside. Holding Barats' already clinging hands, all three eventually get outside, and to the streets. Detona lightly rubs her head against [Name]'s hands, as the Dino roared, seemingly pointing eastward, on which the female just follows her (currently sleeping) friend's companion.

...

Few minutes?... She herself didn't know, as all of them arrived at the school's (unecessarily) far dorms, assigned to specific groups. She came face to face with a door, a shield carved at the middle. She hesitates, her hand jerking towards and away. Detona lets out a annoyed roar, as she shoved her hand to the handle, with [Name] yelping.

Getting a grip on the door, the entrance suddenly opened — Surprised and shocked gazes made their way to the sudden sound, with some getting back on what they were doing, some glaring at [Name] out of annoyance.

The female rubbed their nape, mumbling a audible apology. After that, her and Detona made their way upstairs, eventually arriving at multiple sets of door that were neatly arranged.

Her gaze scanned each and every door, trying to find her friend's name. Not shortly after, her gaze lands on Barats' room nameplate. A smile crept up on her face, though it turned into slight surprise as she figured out it was locked. 'Yep should've expected that.'

"Detona? Do you know where he kept his keys?" Detona let out a joyful roar, as she points her head to Barats' himself. [Name] pursed her lips, yet this is all so her dear friend can finally rest. Step by step, she got closer, inspecting his pockets (of course putting back some valuables).

As she carefully dug into his pockets, she felt something small and metallic. Slowly pulling it up, the item was indeed, the key. [Name] wasted no second to insert the key, twisting the said item, before using the door handle to open it.

The door creaks open, [Name] and Detona going inside. Her friend's room was... Messy to say the least. There were uneven stacks of books - about to fall any moment along with Paperwork that seemed to be for their class being scattered all over the place.

She shook herself from observing as Detona carries Barats to his bedroom. After the dino left, she follows the key to his bedroom — which was also messy. Yet she didn't mind, as she places the key on the nightstand. She sat down with a sleeping Barats', sounds of snoring following his breathing.

A few minutes later, a small ping was heard from [Name]'s phone. The female took the time to read it, as she slowly got up, "Well... I need to go. Bye Detona." She waves with a smile as she exits her friend's room.

"Also, don't be noisy!"

A dejected roar was heard.

...

I don't use Barats that much, though a part of me adored the guy at his release, I mean. A dwarf like creature piloting a growing dino? It was cool.

Also, this was my first ever platonic oneshot (I mostly do romantic hehe).
