Gabi na at sabi ni Calynn, may sasabihin siya sa amin. Nakaupo kami rito sa bake shop ni Lian. Katabi ko si Addie. Sa tapat ko, si Elly tapos katabi niya si Lian.

Bigla na lang dumating si Calynn at sumiksik kay Lian tapos nilapag niya 'yung bag niya sa likuran ng upuan niya.

"Did you know?" bungad niya habang nakaharap sa 'kin.

"Na?" I asked.

"Okay. Sorry to mention, huh. Kakabalik ko lang kasi ng work and usap-usapan pala 'yung pagkakakulong ni Eugo since he's one of the most wanted druglords when he got exposed." sabi niya.

My forehead creased. "Saan papunta 'to?"

"Wait, let me finish first." she said, raising her hand to me. "When Steve's parents got convicted, 'di kami pumunta sa kahit anong hearing. Steve also didn't want to hear anything from the case so I really didn't have an idea."

"Na?" tanong ko ulit.

"That Gio was the prosecutor of Eugo's case!" sigaw niya kaya napatingin 'yung nasa kabilang table sa 'min.

"Sshh." sabi ni Lian.

Calynn pursed her lips. "Sorry." she said. "God, 'di ko man lang alam! Well, I once told him that what really pushed me from going to law school was when I was deprived of justice. He knew about Eugo. When that motherfucking asshole harassed me." gigil na sabi niya tapos napatingin siya kay Elly. "No offense."

Umiling si Elly. "Murahin mo pa. Gagong 'yon."

"Talagang gago siyang putangina ina!" halos pasigaw na sabi ni Addie na nasa tabi ko kaya siniko ko siya.

"Sorry I had to tell you. Wala lang kasi akong mapaglabasan." malungkot na sabi niya. "Steve doesn't want to talk about the case. Naiintindihan ko naman s'ya. After all, Gio prosecuted his parents, too. I don't want to be that insensitive to him."

Tinapik ni Lian 'yung likuran niya. "Okay na, Calynn." she soothingly said. "Nakakulong na si Eugo. Safe ka na."

It must be so hard for Calynn because I saw how her hands were shaking while talking about Eugo. That incident really traumatized her. Ang hirap siguro talagang mapagsamantalahan.

When I learned about that, that was when I was finally sure that it was the best decision that I let Gio handled my case.

Well, Calynn is his friend... and he loved me, at least once in his life. Maybe... he'd do the same? Maybe he will do anything in his power to serve the justice, too. For me.

"Hi," I smiled when I saw Adrian outside the hospital. Nakatayo siya sa labas ng isang Honda Civic. "Is this yours?" I pointed the car and he nodded. "Nice!"

Ngumiti rin si Adrian at pinagbuksan ako ng pinto. I smiled at him and went inside his car.

"'Di ba nasa New York ka? Bakit ka may kotse rito?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Binili ko 'to pero sina Mama ang gumagamit dito kapag wala ako."

I nodded. "Ah."

"Saan mo gusto?" he asked while driving.

"Ikaw na bahala."

We went to Rich Dining which I'm pretty sure an expensive restaurant. I'm really happy for everything that Adrian achieved. Nakakatuwa na makitang umaasenso 'yung mga tao sa paligid ko.

"Grabe, iba ka na talaga." I joked after I sat down on the chair.

Umupo sa tapat ko si Adrian. "Well, thanks to your ex─nevermind, Nat." he smiled.
