There she was, standing outside of the front door, suitcase at her side. She couldn't believe this was happening. A half an hour ago, she was chatting happily with her family and talked about what dinner was. The next moment, the house was filled with shouting and suddenly getting kicked out of the house without remorse. She thought everything would be fine. She thought they'd be accepting. She never would've come out if she knew it would end up like this. What was she going to do now? She wasn't prepared for this.

She felt like she had nowhere to go. She didn't have the money to find her own place. Her job at the cafe wouldn't be enough to sustain her. She started to panic as her new reality started to shift in place. What should she do? Where would she go? The first person she thought of was Sua. She always confided in her when something went wrong. It's just that she was in college far from her now. She didn't want to cause trouble for her. "Maybe Yoohyeon can help." She took her phone out, contacting her as soon as possible before her former family would cut her line. The rings were agonizing. What if she didn't answer? She would see her the next day, but she didn't know what she would do without a home to find. Her breathing started to go fast until she heard a "Hello" on the other line.

"Yoohyeon, I really need your help." Siyeon's breaths were still getting heavy as she was also sobbing through the call.

"Oh my God! Siyeon, what happened." The sobs were loud enough for Yoohyeon to hear through the phone.

"It's something I can't say over the phone. Especially not here. Can I stay at your place for a while? I hope your parents won't mind."

"Of course not! They love you! They'll be happy to take you in for a bit. I'll let them know you're coming. I'm gonna send you the address." Siyeon had never been to their house before. She only ever saw her parents when they went to the cafe once in a while to visit their daughter. She usually talked to them while they were waiting for Yoohyeon to be free.

"Thank you, Yoohyeon. You don't know how relieved I am. I'll be there soon." As soon as she got her message, she headed straight to Yoohyeon's place, being forever thankful for what she did.

"Is it ok to tell me what happened?" Yoohyeon asked concerned. Siyeon came over and moved into her room in silence. She didn't get the chance to organize her thoughts with all the stuff she went through not even half an hour ago.

"I got kicked out of the house."

"What?! Why?! That doesn't seem like a thing your parents would do!"

Siyeon didn't think so either. "It's a tradition in my house. You start to live on your own when you're 18. My sister did it and now it's my turn. It just came by so fast that I couldn't prepare in time. I tried to convince them to let me stay a bit longer until I figured everything out, but they told me it's life. Now reality is hitting me in the face and it's overwhelming. I panicked and thought to come to you right away." She originally planned to tell her the real reason why she was kicked out, but she didn't want to ruin the chance of finding a place to live if she was against it. Yoohyeon was a friend she could trust, but that's what she thought of her parents and guess where that turned out. Siyeon didn't want to take chances. She'll tell her friend eventually when she is sure about what she feels about the subject. It's just that it's too soon after her heart broke and she doesn't want to add more to it. The best she can do for now is to share her feelings about getting kicked out. It's just that she had to make up a believable situation about getting kicked out without outing herself.

"That's awful! What kind of tradition is that?! You're still young! You shouldn't be forced out without being able to adapt. They didn't seem that way when I met them, but I guess looks can be deceiving, huh?"
