Did I expect to be called into the police department for the second time in one month? No I did not- but here I stand at reception waiting for detectives Whitemore and Reynolds. I finally spotted them leaving one of the main interrogation rooms.
"Ah Miss Miller, thank you for coming down at such hour." I smiled as Detective Reynolds shook my hand and Whitemore smiled softly.
"We just needed you to confirm a few things for us." I nodded as they began walking.
"If you'd follow us in the interrogation room please." I kept a calm demeanour as I walked through the bullpen. I felt like every officer and detective were currently staring me down.
As Reynolds held the main door open, I walked through and instantly saw Reid. He was leaning back in his chair staring up at the fan on the ceiling.
"So we'd just like to clear something up, is that ok with you Miss Miller?" I nodded as I took the empty seat next to Reid. He finally looked down in my direction and rolled his eyes.
"As you know this is concerning the death of Amy." Detective Reynolds states the obvious.
"Could you tell us where you and Reid were last night?" I frowned my brow, did Reid not already clarify this.
"We went to a party for the game they played and won, Reid went upstairs with Amy during our game of truth or dare-" Whitemore nodded as he wrote down exactly what I said.
"-they came back down and we headed out. Amy was outside and Jamie, our friend-" I pointed between Reid and I. "-he made a joke to Amy about Reid, then we left to go to my apartment." Making sure that they knew she was alive when we left the party.
"So Reid spent the night at your home?" I nodded in response
"Yes sir." Whitemore exchanged looks with Reynolds before turning his attention towards us.
"Reid you're free to go, we have nothing else to ask, but if something does come up we will contact us. The same goes for you Miss Miller." I got up off the metal chair and made my way over to the large doorframe.
"I do have one request for you Reid-" Reynolds stopped us both at the door. "Please get Josie home safe." Reid stole a quick glance at me and then nodded his head to Reynolds.
"Of course Sir, will do!"
We signed out of the precinct, and made our way over to my apartment. We walked in silence side by side. He had his hands shoved in his pockets as he walked. It was a nice feeling knowing I had someone with me, you know- just in case something happened.
"Thanks for coming down, they were going to ask Jamie, but I knew he'd make a joke out of it." I tilted my head to the side and shrugged.
"It's no problem, I wasn't up to much anyway." He pressed his lips together and nodded.
"Cara is on a movie date with Gray and Sasha is hanging out with Ingrid." He began walking backwards, just so he was facing me. I glanced down at my watch, the clock read seven thirty pm. I knew we'd need to get home before the curfew.
"Why aren't you hanging out with Ingrid and Cara? Did they think you're too boring to hangout with. I mean I get that-"
"Do you ever stop?" He halted in my path. "I don't mean it literally Reid." He grinned and bit his bottom lip, pulling it between his teeth.
"No but seriously, why aren't you hanging out with them?" I stopped in front of him and sighed.
"I like being alone sometimes. I'm not really a people's person." His face held a stern expression.
"I don't believe that for one second." He spun in his spot and began walking again. "You're hiding something."
"And what would that be Mr quarterback?" We continued to walk side by side. I was enjoying this time together, but I couldn't admit that to him.
"Maybe you have secret hookups, I don't know. But I know you're not this quiet, innocent, church girl. I've heard stories about you being one of the most popular girls in your college."
"I just like keeping to myself, What's so bad about that?" I could see my apartment complex come into view. "And I'm not a church girl or popular." I snapped my head in his direction which earned a small chuckle.
"You're so different to Hannah." He whispered under his breath.
"How so?" He turned his head quickly, I don't think he expected me to hear that.
"I mean you're the dream girl-" I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks and dance across my neck and chest.
"- I mean you're not like into drama or obsessed with how you look- I mean clearly." He pointed at my Black leggings, white cropped top and partially zipped jacket.
Ouch that kind of hurt.
"My apartment is just up ahead, you can go now." He rolled his eyes. And slapped his hands against his thighs before placing them on his waist.
"You're so god damn sensitive sometimes." I stand with a shocked expression. Did he really just say that?
"You don't know me Reid? How would you know if I'm 'sensitive' or not. You've literally known me like a week or something." I groaned and began to head up the stairs to the main entrance. I could feel his eyes following my every move.
"All girls are the same, so sensitive and vulnerable." I rolled my eyes and turned on the stairs. He was really starting to sound like a killer from every horror movie that hated women.
"Maybe you're just a cold hearted asshole. You ever thought about that?" I raised my right brow before continuing up the stairs and through the main door.

"No way he said that?" I nodded at Cara. She had come home from her date with Grayson. I was happy she finally had someone worth her time. For the first thirty minutes, she talked about their date and how he bought her flowers after the movies.
"I just don't understand him, he's so confusing." I sighed and leaned my head back against the pillow on Cara's bed. "Everything was going well until he said that."
"Why don't you get to know him-" I turned my head to face Cara, I held a disgusted expression.
"What? don't look at me like that."
"He doesn't want anything to do with me, Car." She put her head on top of my own and pulled her blanket over the pair of us.
"And I don't really want anything to do with him either."
"All you need to do is tolerate him when he's around." I stared up at the ceiling and thought about our friends.
"Do you think you could do that? For me?" I peered out the corner of my eyes and smiled.
"I'll do it for you."
