• CONNIE'S POV •
"Another girl? Finally!"

"Yeah. She's a new kid at school heard about us! Isn't that cool? She's all the way from Alaska and she wanted to join the Ducks!" Said Charlie.

"We need more girls here." I said. "I agree." Said Tammy.

"C'mon, we're gonna meet her at the rink!" He said.

We all hurry to the bus and went to the rink. We had our skates, gear and sticks ready.

I'm really excited to meet our new team member.

"Hey guys, get your gear on quick! I've got someone to introduce you to." Said coach. We did what he said and went in the rink.

Then we saw coach came towards us with someone next to him. They were wearing the hockey attire just not in a duck jersey. I couldn't see their face clearly since they had the helmet on and closed.

"Guys, we got a new teammate! And it may come to shock that the person next to me is a woman! She moved all the way from Alaska and has been playing for... How long again?" Coach said.

"4 years, coach. Since I was just in 2nd grade." She said. "Yep, what she said. Her name is Y/n Y/l/n. So, you guys can get to know each other a little bit before we play." Said coach.

We all skate to her. I was first because of how happy I was to have another girl on our team.

"You have no idea how happy I am to have another girl on our team." I said. She giggled and finally took off the helmet.

I could hear the boys whisper and mumble "Whoa..."

She was gorgeous! Honestly, I reacted how the boys did.

"I'm happy to be here too, thank you!" She said, brushing her hair with her fingers.

It was quiet for a while. I think we were all stating at her a bit too long.

She chuckled. "What are you guys stating at?" She said, looking behind her.

I snapped out of my zone. "Sorry. I'm Connie. This is Tammy. We're the only two girls in the Ducks but now it's the 3 of us!" I said.

"Hello! And these boys are...?" She asked.

"I'm Fulton Reed!" Said Fulton, taking his hand out of his gloves to shake her hand and so did the other boys.

She shook each of them. She was very kind.

"So, now that I know all your names, let's play! How should we split the teams?" She asked.

"Oh we usually just practice scoring and Goldberg here, our goalie, 'tries' to catch it." I said putting quotation marks with my hands on the word "tries".

"Well, let's get to it!" She said. We all stared at her as she skates away to get the puck.

As we were lining up, I could hear the boys say,

"Man, she's pretty!" "I think I'm in love." "I think I might ask her out later."

• Y/N'S POV •

"Why are people staring at us so much? Are we that popular?" I said as me and Connie were walking down the hall to practice.

"Babe, they're staring at you! I mean look at you! You grow more and more gorgeous everyday!" She said. "Haha. Thanks for that but I'm feeling very uncomfortable with it."

"Don't worry. Let's just rush to practice." She said. She took my hand and we walked faster to the locker room.

We changed into my gear and I put on my helmet.

"You know you don't always have to wear your helmet all the time." Said Connie. "Well, I want to."

We met with the others and Charlie asked me. "Y/n, why do you like to wear your helmet all the time? It's not like there's flying pucks all the time."

"I just prefer it that way, alright?" I replied. "Just take it off. Stop being so embarrassed! Honestly, you look scary just walking around with your face covered most of the time." Said Connie.

I sighed and took it off.

We walked over to the rink and saw the seniors practice. We then bumped into them.

"Well if it isn't Captain ducky..." Said one. "Hey, don't touch him man! The hell's the matter with you?" I said. I was just about as tall as Charlie was so I didn't feel so threatened by the senior who was literally as tall as I was.

"Whoa..." He said, looking at me up and down. "I don't remember you on my screen." Then he looks at my number.

"Number 21, Y/l/n! I knew your face looked familiar... You look stun-" I cut him off before he finished.

"Stunning, gorgeous, beautiful, pretty, marvelous, I've heard it all before! Now move!" I said. "We should go out sometime..." He said.

"Hey, she said no! Back off!" Said Connie. "What are you? Her girlfriend?" He said and laughed with his friends.

"Yeah, I am. What are you gonna do about it?" She said, making me grin at her. They all looked stunned and then their Coach spilt us up.

"Thanks babe." I said to her.

"Your welcome. I'd do it again anytime, anywhere." She said.
