"So, this is what he used to wear..." He mutters as he unfolds the clothes, "...Can I ask them to make it red?"
Outside, Amiya hums to herself as she sways while standing still. She takes out her phone then taps on it to check her reminder. She blinks as she stares at the word "Meeting" before tapping on it to see it sliding to the left for the word "Now" to appear.
Amiya gasps before knocking on the door and saying, "Ashura! Sorry but I need to go for a meeting right now!" She takes off, not bothering to hear if he had heard it or not.
Minutes later, the door opens and Ashura, now wearing a simple gray coat that reaches his knees with a black jacket of blue lining over it while the hood is down. He sighs as he readjust his helmet on his head then props up his collar.
"Amiya?" He calls out but no response, so he scratches his head and walks to the reception desk.
"Amiya?" Once again no response nor anyone else in sight, so he sighs before walking out of the reception area.
Ashura squints his eyes before grabbing his hood to pull it up to his head. He blinks as he sees that all around him are other people walking on the pathways before looking up to see the building he had come out of, of modest size with the words M.D attached to the front, compared to the tower he had seen in his room.
He stays standing still, attracting some stares from the people while a little kid, who is strolling alongside with a young woman, points at Ashura while looking at the woman with confusion.
"Ma, why is that weird man standing in front of the Mwedicul Depwartment?" Ashura hears the question while his face twitches a bit at the word weird.
The woman looks at Ashura before squinting her eyes, then widens it before pulling the boy's hand with her to speed walk away.
"...Oh fucking great." Ashura mutters before running to a certain alleyway in front of the hospital, while holding on to his hood to conceal himself even further.
"Oh... Fuck... Stamina..." After a few additional alleyways, Ashura leans his body against the wall to catch his breath, "Yeah... Laugh it... Up, Ata."
He resumes running but slows down as he sees Atalanta sitting inside a small cafe. He sighs before walking over there with a blank face that slowly turns into annoyance as he sees more and more people looking at him.
Ashura opens the door, making some of the customers glance over to him, then do a double take before even some of them look down to their order and to Ashura with awkward expressions.
"You just had to pick a cafe." He hisses out to Atalanta while sitting in front of her. He sees the menu and browses through it to find something to order.
"Thou need to see thy own rumor, after all." She takes a sip from her cup that has apple juice.
"At the expense of being looked like a savage? Really?"
Atalanta shrugs before calmly saying, "Practical experience is the best teacher."
"...I give up. It's already done." Ashura grumbles before raising his hand to the counter, "I want to order!" He loudly says.
"You are paying for this, right?" He drops his hand to look right into Atalanta's eyes, though the latter scoffs.
"Thou art a male yet a female is paying? Dost thou know of the word shame?"
"Oh sue me. I got no money right now so how about I pay you back later?"
Atalanta shrugs which makes him sigh while rolling his eyes at her action, though he quickly stops as he sees a cat ear waitress dressed as a maid next to him.
"He-hello, welcome to Rody's MiniLand, wh-what would you like to order?"
Atalanta wryly smiles a bit as she sees the miniature twitch from Ashura's hand, before schooling herself as he glances over to her.
"I'll have milk coffee and the place's recommendation."
"Right away." She hastily bows and leaves after writing the order down.
Atalanta scowls at him, "Really? Getting that would put a dent to my money."
"Hey, you told me that you liked it this morning. Can't blame me." He shrugs while smirking a bit.
"Hmmph."
"Anyway, you are good with going to Yan, right?"
She rolls her eyes, "For the last time, yes. Thou only need to pick me."
"Alright, alright, just making sure..." He raises both of his arms in a surrender manner.
Silence envelops them as Atalanta uses her new phone that Amiya had given her once she became an Operator while Ashura taps at the table with a bored expression.
"I'm sorry." Atalanta glances over to him with confusion while putting her phone down.
"About the argument last night. I shouldn't have used your history as ammunition for it... So, sorry."
Atalanta merely stares at him, before giggling a bit that reddens his cheek. He opens his mouth, but she cuts him off.
"Thou truly art a strange Master... Apologizing when I was the one to provoke thee... Quite different." She coughs, "Apology accepted, if thou accept mine."
"Sure, apology accepted." Again silence but without the awkwardness as they smile at each other, until the waitress comes by to give Ashura's order.
"Here's your order." The waitress quickly puts it, hastily bows, then leaves.
"Thank you." He shouts, though that just made the waitress walk faster. He loudly grumbles while Atalanta's smile twitches.
"I hate you."
"Practical experience."
*Authors Note*
I admit that I mostly skip through the story of Arknights, so I don't really know if there are buildings on the surface rather than inside of the mobile city. Also, I apologize in advance if I get some of the lore wrong while writing this (I usually write between 1 AM to 5 AM so my brain might derp out) but I will try to get at least most of it correct, or I might as well just confirm that this is AU fic.
