Qatar -The Middle East
Present Day
Two US Air Force Blackhawk helicopters flew over the savanna below, their shadows sliding across the ground like snakes. The sun blazed down, turning the sandy ground white. About eight soldiers sat in both helicopters, anticipating their arrival to the base. One of the soldiers, Jorge Figueroa had his head tilted back, a huge grin on his face.
"Oh god, five months of this," he said, "I can't wait to get a little taste of home." He took a breath. "Plate of mama's alligators a to fare." Technical Sergeant Robert Epps removed his white earbuds, looking at Jorge.
"You've been talking about barbecued alligators and crickets for the last two weeks, Fig," Epps said, "I'm never going to your mama's house, I promise." Jorge sat up, speaking.
"Gators are known to have the most succulent in the meat." He said.
"I understand." The sergeant said. Out of nowhere, Jorge began speaking in an entirely different language, most likely Spanish. Epps listened for a moment before interrupting.
"English, please." Jorge continued speaking Spanish. Captain William Lennox interrupted abruptly.
"Speak English, please," The captain said, "I mean, how many times have we gone over this. We don't speak Spanish." Jorge stared at him in disbelief.
"Why you gotta ruin it for me man?" Jorge asked. "Its my heritage." Jorge then went on to rant in Spanish again.
"Go with the Spanish, whatever." Lennox said. First Sergeant Donnelly, a man with ginger hair and thick black glasses looked at them, smiling. He was chewing something, probably gum.
"Hey, you guys remember weekends?" He asked. "The Sox at Fenway cold hot dog and a flat bear." Jorge sighed happily.
"Perfect day," he turned his head, "what about you, captain? You got a perfect day?" Lennox smiled, rolling his head on the back of his seat.
"I just can't wait to hold my baby girl for the first time." He chuckled. The soldiers erupted into "awe" and "baby". After a few moments Lennox smirked. "Stop." He said.

The helicopters landed at the base, the sun blazing behind them. They touched down, their hatches lowering into ramps and releasing the soldiers. Lennox led the group out and towards the trucks that were going to take them to the camp. The camp was full of tents, a small section cleared out with a wooden sign labeled "The Lagoon" which housed multiple little inflatable pools for soldiers to sit in and relax. Beside the pools was a make-shift basketball court, where a few people were playing. There were spaces with chairs to sit in and a spot with a "shower". The shower was just some metal dividers set up for privacy with a long pipe supplying water to the shower.
"Watch this crossover, baby," one of the soldiers playing basketball said, "just like Jordan in his prime pushing through the front line." The man dodged around the defender, sprinting across the court. Just above, two helicopters flew past, moving to the landing zone. By the showers, a larger man covered in tattoos stepped into one of the stalls, pushing everyone else away.
"Step aside ladies." He said, putting his body under the water. The other soldiers yelled and argued. Lennox was sitting on a bench, writing something on his notepad. He tapped his foot on the sand, yawning.

ActionThis is my own rewrite of the 2007 hit "Transformers" directed by Micheal Bay. I hope you enjoy! Just as an FYI, book one won't be much different from the original movie, only some changes that will greatly affect later installments.
