Group, "Hmmmmm??"
Chatter and laughter immediately brakes out among the group. Mikasa pulls her scarf over her Scarlett nose and Sasha climbs onto the table on all fours, her face red, mouth a-gape, and eyes wide scanning the drawing. "Ahhhhhh!" she yells, "Mikasa and I would never share a piece of bread that small!" she continues. "So you admit you do share bread?" Ymir asks with a smug expression. "I think it's cute!" Historia adds. "Yea well-" Sasha starts but Eren quickly interjects, "and didn't Mikasa also save you?"
Sasha: "Yea but-"
Connie: "And you're always going on about how cool you think Mikasa is!"
Sasha: "but-"
Jean: "I thought you only had a thing for potatoes."
Sasha: "What?!"
Historia presses a finger to her lip methodically, "...and you're always sitting across from her at lunch." Armin mirrored Historia's pose, "And come to think of it, Mikasa, you do talk about how Sasha has perfect archery form all the time." Mikasa shoots him a look of betrayal.
Sasha: "Wait-"
Marco: "You guys are always standing next to each other in line too."
The room grows silent as footsteps approach the table, its Annie, and she deals the final blow, "Aren't you two also, roommates?" and the room brakes into a simultaneous "OoooOOooooooOooooooo!"
"Mikasaaaaaaaa!" Sasha cries as she crawls across the table to weep into the girls lap.
Mikasa stands up and the whole room grows deathly quiet, Sasha still wrapped around her knees. Mikasa takes a deep breath and pulls down her scarf, "Seven out of ten," She says before silently sitting back down. The room breaks into laughter and applause as Sasha jumps up, grabs Mikasa by the shoulders, and shakes her; suddenly stopping and staring at stone faced woman into her eyes, "wait," she pauses, "A SEVEN?!" she shouts at Mikasa, "That's all you think of us?!" Mikasa gives Sasha a puzzled and nervous look, and her lips slightly part in surprise. "I-" Mikasa starts, but it was too late "Conniiee!" Sasha cries as she drags herself to weep on his lap, "Why am I not good enough!" Sasha moans. Mikasa reaches toward Sasha but several comrades has already begun to berate her, "Way to go Mikasa!" Ymir says sarcastically, "Just a seven?" Bartholdt says as he shakes his head in disgust, Jean finishing her off, "and I though Reiner was bad with the ladies," he says as he pats Mikasa on the back. The rest of the unit could be found trying to cheer up Sasha with their left over dinner scraps. Mikasa reaches out to grab the book but finds Armin has beaten her to it, He looks up at Mikasa with a kind smile, "....Ten out of Ten," he whispers before turning to page 4.
Personal Opinion Below:
This is one of my personal favorites, I love this ship to hell and back. What I find most interesting is that Sasha doesn't get enough credit for how skilled of a soldier she actually is. This ship works because the polar opposites of their expression of emotion and mental coping mechanisms to survive in the world, but they are similar in the desire to save those in need around them and they both possess a very honest perspective of the state of the world. A great representation of this would be at the beginning of the season when they scouts went on thier initial mission, Eren was eaten and some of the scouts got stranded on the rooftops. Sasha was the only scout to bravely still recommend making a dash towards the tower that had supplies although she did so with an air of hope. In the same scene Mikasa did the same, her vibe was more stoic and all around negative, but her goal was the same. It was said that they were roommates, whatever the case Mikasa felt especially comfortable around Sasha to the point where she was okay with making a joke regarding her or teasing her. We saw her express deep sorrow upon her death and even sit next to her grave. That is a side of Mikasa that we don't really see when it comes to any other person to person interaction besides Eren. I like to think of good ships being in relation to growth and understanding oneself and who ever they're in a relationship with. So the reason this ship works is because of Sasha's easy going and aloof approach to life while also possessing a very grounded connection with the earth around her because of her upbringing of being a haunter. This would work well with Mikasa simply because she would be able to trust Sasha with her dark thoughts and have them acknowledged with a very honest but optimistic response. Mikasa would never feel like she's disconnected from what actually is happening rather Sasha would provide her with a realistic escape from it. I believe she could teach Mikasa to live more in the moment and enjoy the little things, like food. Mikasa would also not have to worry about her safety as much because Sasha possess the natural ability to take care of herself and those around her with a strong independence. Mikasa is more confident in her combat abilities, her strengths in weaknesses in he things she's able to do, which Sasha could learn to be more confident in hers through Mikasa, while Sasha is more confident in interacting with others, and expressing herself, which Mikasa could learn from her. I imagine Sasha to be a little more hands on and more prone to show affection whereas, I believe Mikasa may not show affection but she is capable of accepting it. I also feel like if Mikasa was to show affection it would be in a practical way which Sasha would appreciate. I mostly love these two as a couple because for once I believe someone could save Mikasa instead of it being the other way around. Mikasa would however cover up Sasha's clumsy tendencies to make mindless mistakes or do certain things that could get her in trouble in the future. We have actually even seen Mikasa save Sasha from herself. I see a duo that would have no issues excepting each other as they are, while simultaneously because they allow one another to be themselves they are also able to learn from them. Sasha would most likely have no issue with Mikasa's journey to save Eren, if anything she would help no questions asked. Further more, I believe Mikasa's love languages is words of affirmation and quality time, or just being told she is appreciated which Sasha would do, I think Sasha's love language is acts of service and quality time which aligns with how Mikasa shows affection to others, by doing.
Best Case Scenario: The two are just aloof and socially awkward enough to perhaps not pick up on the fact that they are slowly developed deeper feeling for one another. I imagine them to slowly start spending more and more time together, not understanding the reason why, or why they feel the need to pick up practical gifts that the other would find useful. Sasha begins to question why she saves pieces of her food to see if it will get Mikasa to react. Mikasa begins to question why she find the time to taunt Sasha just so she will hang all over her pleading for her to stop. Their best hope is that they will realize long after they've fallen in love and it's too late to turn back.
Worst Case Scenario: Either Sasha or Mikasa picks up on their feeling and starts to distances themselves from the relationship.
