Chapter 2: The gathering

Start from the beginning

The streets were abandoned as they walked. Not that they could blame them for staying inside. If her mother had it her way, Savannah would be inside as well. However, the mother understood she couldn't have her way. One way or another Savannah was going to keep her promise. Her mother knew she hated to break promises. This way she was able to monitor and keep her daughter as safe as she could.

They stopped at the gate and Savannah hugged her mother once again. " Thank you!" Her mother hugged her back and waited until her daughter disappeared inside the school. The mother sighed and headed home. Praying that her daughter would return to her safely.

Savannah made her way quickly to her homeroom where she left her bag. She saw the door was closed and no one else was at the building. It wasn't unusual for this to happen so it didn't worry her much. She opened the door and saw her bag sitting on the teacher's desk with a note. Savannah looked at the note and walked over. She then read it.

' Dear Savannah, I got a call from your mother about what happened yesterday. I'm sorry I let you out of my sight. I'm also sorry for telling her about the situation with your classmates. I cleaned your desk and made sure they didn't do anything to your bag. '

The teacher didn't bother to sign the note as she knew it wasn't needed. Savannah grabbed her bag and looked at her desk. Once again there was faint writing in pencil.

It most likely was something mean about her. Like the way she dress, it was something they also made fun of her for. She put her notebook in the bag and left the classroom. She closed the door and headed out the front. It was easier to head to the forest than climbing the fence.

She didn't see anyone enter the forest and frowned. She then walked to the spot where she started from the day before. She then started to walk straight, just as she had before. She was hoping this was the way to the tree. (They didn't mark it in any way so she couldn't be sure.) Apart from her wanting to call his name but another part was too scared. Scared that she may lead the Piped Piper right towards her.

That was something she was scared to do. She didn't even want to meet the Piped piper. She doesn't usually even think about them but what her mother said was circling in her mind. Like a broken record. ' You two could be next. ' That was the thought in her mind. A thought she hated, she knows it won't come true. it was a forest and in the day. The Pipe Piper seemed only to strike at night.

As Savannah was getting lost in her thoughts she failed to notice someone following behind her. Silently with a smirk on his face. He knew she was lost in her thoughts, as it was something she did a lot. Even though she doesn't mean to. She thinks it is incredibly rude.

When he finally decided what he was going to do, he smirked. You could practically see the devil's horns and tail on him. They were the same shade as his hair.

Savannah stopped at the familiar tree and sighed. No sign of Peter. She set her bag down and was about to turn around when she was lifted off of the ground.

She let a tiny scream out as she grabbed the hands around her waist. She looked to the side to see Peter with a goofy smile on his face. " Peter! Put me down. " Peter chuckled and she was giggling. " Nope! I don't think I will. "

Savannah was then sat on the tree branch and Peter smirked. " There! You can't leave now! " He felt a sense of accomplishment, after all, he has made it harder for her to leave. He didn't want her to leave again. That was not fun in the slightest to him.

Savannah smiled and shook her head. " Oh, Peter, I didn't want to leave. I was going to wait for you. " Peter's smirk faded as a blush crept pale face. " Oh, well, I am still not letting you down! " Savannah shook her head and swung her feet at him.
