Izuku waited in the common room for Katsuki, his backpack laying to his feet while he scrolled through his socials.
He texted a few friends from New York back and set an alarm about half an hour earlier for Monday considering Nezu was expecting Izuku to answer then.Izuku still didn't know what to do. His personal life finally seemed to work out again. But this undercover stunt could help with his career. Izuku will be damned if he would allow other people to hold it against him that he didn't at least try.
He just wished he could tell at least his childhood friend who just arrived in the common room.
"Let's go, Deku!" The blonde shouted and made his way outside.Izuku nodded and nervously followed Katsuki outside, already seeing a familiar car at the gate.
When the two boys stepped outside of the building two adults immediately came out of the car, running towards the teens.
A familiar blonde woman almost made Izuku loose his balance. Izuku felt a little nauseous and wanted to push her off, but fought against it.
"Izu! Oh, I missed you." Mitsuki mumbled into his shoulder. The teen grew up to be way taller than the woman, her head only reaching below his shoulders.
"I missed you too, auntie." Izuku hummed and managed to slowly wrap his arms around the woman.
This was the closest he felt to his mother since Izuku lost her. The closest he felt to home.Mitsuki separated and padded Izukus cheek softly before turning to her son and pulling him into a hug as well. Katsuki groaned annoyed, but wrapped one arm around her anyway.
"It's good to see you again, Izuku." Masaru said softly, pulling the greenette into a short hug.
"Hi, uncle Masaru. How have you been?" Izuku asked while they went to the car.
"I've been good. Our business skyrocketed after your class wore their hero uniforms to last years sports festival. I hope we can design yours too?" Masaru said smiling and Izuku nodded.
"Yeah, sounds good." The greenette responded and put his bag pack into the trunk."Izu! I made Katsudon, is it still your favorite?" Mitsuki asked smiling.
"Of course it is, the nerd didn't change that much." Katsuki said and rolled his eyes before sitting down in the car.
"Perfect! I'm so excited!" Mitsuki said smiling widely and sat down in the passenger seat.
Izuku sat down next to Katsuki and Masaru started driving.
The closer they got to the Bakugos house the more anxious Izuku got, which didn't stay unnoticed by Katsuki.Izuku got lost in is thoughts. Their old home was on the same street and if he remembered correctly they would drive past it to get to the Bakugo household.
Katsuki tapped Izukus arm softly and the greenette flinched at the sudden touch before looking at the blonde.
"Sorry." Katsuki mumbled and Izuku shook his head.
"I-it's fine, sorry. I'm a little on edge." Izuku said quietly and looked back outside the window.
Katsuki nodded absentmindedly.
"Does someone live there now?" Izuku suddenly asked. "In our old home?" He added, not sure if the other understood what he was talking about before.
Katsuki looked past Izuku through his window and hummed. "A family with a kid moved in, I think the kid is about 7 now." Katsuki said softly, more soft than he intended it to be, but he somehow had this feeling that was telling him to be nice to Izuku. Extra nice.
Izuku nodded absentmindedly, before freezing up when they did drive past his old home.
Memories Izuku didn't think about much came back to him all at once. Him and his mom taking care of the small garden together. They never got to do it again, because they didn't have one in New York.
How they decorated their homes depending on the season, which they stopped doing in New York as well because their apartment was smaller than this home.
How his mom waited for him at the porch everyday after school, welcoming him home. She did still welcome him home in New York, but she couldn't wait outside anymore.
Life seemed so much better here and for a the millionth time Izuku regretted agreeing on moving.
None of the things would have happened if they just stayed here. His mother would still be alive.
