Harley could barely breathe, let alone think straight, as she covered her mouth and let out a muffled sob.

"What did I do? What did I do?!" She whispered, dropping down to her knees. Shooting Joker wasn't part of her and Alex's plan, true enough, but seeing them together...that angered Harley to a point of no return. "Okay...think Harley, think." She wiped her face and stood up, knowing that she didn't have a lot of time left. With her life on the line and no one to help her, Harley knew she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She thought about getting in contact with Alex, but she knew that Alex wouldn't help her. Not after what she did to Joker. Ivy was M.I.A. and she really didn't get along with Livewire, so in this very moment...Harley was on her own.

"Okay...this is no big deal. I've basically been on my own for awhile now, and I've made it this far. All I have to do is survive the next few hours, get my affairs in order, and leave Gotham. Surely no one will find me." She continued to talk to herself, cutting through dark allies, making sure no one was following her, as she made it back to her small apartment. Doc had closed up the restaurant for the night, but left a spare key for Harley so that she could get inside.

She hurried inside and locked the door, rushing upstairs to her apartment, as she closed and locked the door.

"Hi Brucey baby. We are getting out of this place, so pack light." She said, grabbing her bag, and stuffing every and anything she could fit inside of it. For the first time in a long time, she honestly felt scared, and that was unusual for her. When she was with the Joker, she never felt scared, despite how badly she was treated by him. She always said it was out of love, because he never successfully killed her, but little did she know...killing her wasn't his ultimate goal. Not really, anyways. "Okay, come on baby. Let's go."

She reached up to unlock her door, but froze when someone started knocking on her door.

"Nobody knows I'm here, so I'm good. I'll just wait for whoever this is to go away, then we'll be on our way." She murmured to herself, taking a cautious step back.

"Harleen Quinzel! Gotham Police, open up!"

"Okay, so they know. Shit!" She rushed towards her window, as the knocks turned into loud banging.

"OPEN THE DOOR!" They shouted.

"Bruce! Come on boy!" She was about to open her window and make a clean getaway, until something came flying into the window, making her quickly fall to the floor. "What the hell was that?!" She looked and saw a bomb ball, which bounced its way to the other side of her small apartment, and she quickly rolled underneath her table. Bruce rushed towards the ball, letting out a laugh, as he jumped over the couch.

"BRUCE, NO!" Before she could finish her sentence, a loud explosion erupted throughout the apartment. Harley covered her head, letting out a shrieking scream, and then...nothing. Pure silence, aside from voices that could be heard in the far distance. "Bruce?" She eased out from under the table, her eyes filled with tears, as she frantically started searching for her pet. Tears were falling hard from her face, as she looked around her now trashed apartment.

"I don't understand...no one knew I was here, no one knew." She sobbed. She gathered her things, quickly leaving the apartment, using a secret exit that she had created when she first moved into the apartment. Bypassing the police, she saw an unmarked, white pickup truck speeding down the street. She figured it was one of Roman's men coming for her, which meant she didn't have a lot of time left, before they found her and killed her.

It was time for Harley to go, but she refused to leave without saying her final goodbyes to everyone. Alex included.

Alex could barely sleep, as she tossed and turned in her bed. Her mind was solely on Joker and all she wanted to do was see him and let him know that she was there.

Closing her eyes, she looked back on their very last encounter together, which still brought tears to her eyes. Him pointing his gun at her, threatening to shoot her, all while she was pregnant with their second child...it still left a bad taste in her mouth.

Sitting up in bed, Alex sighed heavily, running her fingers through her hair. Why can't I sleep? Better yet...why can't I get Joker out of my head? She thought to herself. For the last year, Alex had been focusing on herself and her girls, rarely giving Joker a second thought. Though she missed him, she knew that their arrangement was best for everyone, the girls included. But after discovering that Joker had been keeping tabs on her and the girls...that made Alex wonder. Did he still love her? Could there actually be a chance for them to finally be together? Finally be a family? She shook her head, sighing heavily, as she laid back down.

"He'd never choose us over being a villain." She said to herself. She rolled over, closing her eyes once again, only to jump when she heard something hit her balcony door. "What the..." She climbed out of bed and walked over towards the balcony, pulling the doors open, dodging a rock that came flying towards her face.

"Oops, sorry!" She heard, as she leaned over the balcony. Harley was standing down below, looking worse for wears, as she tried to fix her messy hair. "Hi."

"You have a lot of nerve coming here, after what you did!"

"I know, but...I'm uh...I'm leaving town and I didn't want to leave without saying goodbye." She spoke.

"Typical Harley...running away from her problems, instead of facing them head on!" I snapped.

"I know, but...what other choice do I have?! Literally everyone in Gotham wants my head and if I don't leave, I'm going to die! Is that what you want?"

"Seriously? That's all I've ever wanted!"

"You don't mean that." She said, shaking her head.

"I do mean it!" I shouted.

"Then why didn't you kill me? You had plenty of opportunities to do so, so why didn't you?" She got me there. I did have plenty of chances to kill her, and yet...she's still alive.

"I didn't kill you, Harley, because I have two daughters to think about. Killing you would be the most satisfying thing ever, but then I'd go to jail and my girls mean more to me than your death. Besides...I don't need to kill you. All the enemies you've made over the years will take care of that for me." Her eyes filled with tears as she sniffled loudly.

"I deserved that." She said, nodding her head.

"No, you deserve a lot worse, but I'm done wasting my breath, time, and energy on you. You wanna leave? Then go. Nobody is stopping you and no one will miss you, but do yourself and everyone else a favor. Stay gone and don't come back!" I told her, as I turned and walked back into my bedroom. I'm sure this won't be the last time I hear from Harley, but if she knew what was good for her...she'd leave this place and never come back.
