Hi humans! I'm back with a new chapter. To be honest, while writing this chapter I was hit by the worst writer's block I've ever had. It took a while and lots of dance breaks and scream sessions to get this out. But I did it! I hope you enjoy the chapter <3

Oh, and here's the link to this chapter's song. You know the drill, don't spoil it!

"Art thou in good humor?" At the soft voice, Kara turned from her perch on her bed and saw Alex the maid lady standing in the doorway. She managed to smile weakly.

"Aye, I am merry. Merely lost in mine own thoughts."

The maid went to sit on the edge of Kara's bed, lowering her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "Might these thoughts be of a certain Romeo?"

Kara's eyes widened. "Thee knoweth? How?"

The maid smirked. "I did see thee talking to him at the party. Thy feelings lack subtlety. Thou art in love, art thee not?"

Kara sighed. What was the point in pretending anymore? If this Alex was anything like hers, she couldn't lie to her anyway.

"Aye, that I am. But we remain star-crossed still, for these violent delights have violent ends."

"Not every story ends yond way, dear Juliet. Thy fate is not sealed yet."

Kara frowned. Their fate seemed fairly unavoidable, judging by the end of the play. "I understandeth not. What is thy plan?"

Eyes lit up with excitement, the maid reached into her skirt pocket and held up a small glass vial, blue liquid sloshing inside.

Something about it filled Kara with dread, and she eyed the object cautiously. "Um..."

"Worry not, 'tis not poison, but a most miraculous cure. You will lie as though dead, but alive still, and twelve hours hence, cometh thy Romeo will. Then thee shall awake, and star-crossed lovers will thee be no more."

Ah. So this was the substance that allowed Juliet to fake her death. Hopefully, Mon-El would actually get the message and avoid meeting the same end as his Shakespearean counterpart.

Kara reached out and took the vial offered to her, meeting the maid's hopeful gaze. "I thanketh thee," she said sincerely.

The woman who looked like her sister smiled, brushing the hair away from Kara's face affectionately. "Sweet dreams, Juliet. May thy love beest waiting when thee awakens."

"Romeo! At last I hast found thee." Mon-El looked up from where he was sitting and saw Benvolio walking towards him, wearing a dismal expression. After being banished for Tybalt's death, he had decided to seek refuge in the woods until...well, until they, for better or for worse, reached the end of the play. He tried not to think about what that would mean. Either they would die, which would be understandably inconvenient, or finally escape from this dream world and once again say goodbye forever. Mon-El wasn't sure which would hurt more at this point.

"Benvolio? What is it?" he asked, even as he knew what would come out of his friend's mouth.

"My most humble apologies, dear cousin, but thy belov'd Juliet is dead."

Mon-El remembered at the last minute that he wasn't supposed to know that she was alive, and lowered his head, arranging his face into what he hoped was a mournful expression.

"I shall travel to Verona at once. Thanketh thee for telling me, cousin."

He could only hope they would escape their star-crossed fate.
