Scott's P.O.V.

'Hey Scott, it's Mitch. I know we haven't talked in a while and I was just wondering how you were? I've just graduated high school and am moving to LA in three weeks. So everything's good here. Hope you're doing okay.'

I re-read the message over and over. My eyes analysing every word. Moving to LA? I felt my heart pound in my chest. How was I supposed to answer?

"Hey, Scott. We should really pack." The voice broke through my voice and I turned to look up at Alex. I nodded my head, locking my phone and throwing it down on the bed.

We quickly started to pack, half of my stuff was already in boxes anyway. All I had now was my clothes. I started with the jeans. Then shirts, folding them and carefully throwing into my box of stuff. I then went on to sweaters. At the bottom of the pile was the oldest one I had. It was grey and the writing was all broken and cracked and faded on the front. But I could just make out the word Arlington. I lifted it into my arms and took a deep sniff, the smell of fresh raspberries wafted up my nose and opened that filing cabinet in my brain. My eyes flashed back to hugging him, kissing his head, saying goodbye. I remembered how the sweater was way too big for both Mitch and I two years ago. I pulled the sweater over my head. It fit perfectly now and it still smelled like him.

I really should text him back. I grabbed my phone and stared at the message again. 'Heya, so glad to hear you're doing well. I graduated last week and am also moving to LA. Maybe we should meet up. You could meet Alex if you wanted. We could catch up and stuff.' I sent it quickly and breathed out. It was done. He would either say yes or no and that was that.

I felt Alex's hands on my shoulder. "This is old." He tugged on my sweater and knelt down behind me, his lips pressed to my neck. "I remember you wore this the first day you came here. It was nearly down to your knees. You only had the clothes you stood up in. You looked banged up and broken, lost even. You cried the whole first night and I thought that you'd run away but you began to settle in. I loved you the second I set eyes on you." He kissed my neck and I felt my heart sink. He said the words but somehow they didn't feel right.

I avoided saying it back and pushed him away from me. "You're such a dork. Come on get packing, Taylor Swift." I heard him giggle and stAnd up. I breathed in again, glad he hadn't noticed.

We loaded our stuff into the car, early on Saturday morning. I sat into the front seat of the car that I had been in so many times before. It felt weird to think that it could possibly be the last time I sat in here. Alex sat into the back, Michael in the drivers seat and Blaze and Jake sat in the back.

"Bye, kiddo." Jane said through the window. I smiled at her.

"I'll come and visit don't worry." I whispered as she moved to Alex's window.

"It was a pleasure mister Hoying." Martha said, her cold smile giving me chills. I shook her hand through the ops window and she walked away. The car started and we drove away, the rest of the kids waving and running after the car to the end of the street.

When we got to the airport, Michael helped us check in. He took us to the security check and we stopped. "This is as far as we can go I'm afraid." He said mostly to the kids. "Have a good flight. If you have any problems don't fret to call. We are always a phone call away. And always remember you can come back, for a weekend or whatever. God, I'm gonna miss you guys." Michael rambled. I hugged him tightly, patting his back.

"I'm gonna miss you and your perfectly cooked food." I whispered, stepping out of the hug. He then turned to Alex and I turned to Jake. He gave me a sad smile and I lifted him into my arms. "I know you're twelve now and such a grown up but I still think you could have one more hug."

He gripped me tight. "I'm going to miss you, Scott." He said, his voice shaking as he cried a little.

"No crying okay. As Michael said I'm only a phone call away. If you need me call me. If you just want to talk call me. Just know the time difference is three hours." I said letting him slip to the ground.

I then turned to Blaze who was already crying. "I'm going to comeback soon. Probably over Christmas. You just keep your head up." I said as she jumped into my arms.

When she had finally been prised off of me Alex and I went through. We got through security and grabbed some food. We sat down and waited at the gate.

"I've got a present for you." Alex said as I scrolled through Facebook. I put down my phone and turned to him, rolling my eyes.

"What did you get me?" I asked, trying not to act too excited.

Alex turned to his bag and began to dig through it. He then. Grabbed something and slid his hand out of the bag. It was a large box and on the front was a picture of a camera. My eyes widened.

"Alex, I can't." I said as he handed it to me.

"It's for both of us. For the YouTube thing. We should start and see how things get on. This is only a basic camera but it will get us started and I figured it could be a good idea." I smiled and hugged him.

"Thanks Alex. I thought you'd forgotten about it." I said, kissing his cheek. The peppermint smell was strong and made me dizzy but it was amazing.

"I forget nothing." He whispered, winking at me and biting his bottom lip.

I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and took it out. It was a text from Mitch. 'See you tomorrow. Looking forward to it.' I smiled, my heart pounding again. I couldn't wait to see him.
