CHAPTER FOURTEEN

MIN-HO WAS EXHAUSTED. IT seemed like he was exhausted quite often now. Random waves of nausea and fatigue washed over him as if they had always been there, but he was just now noticing them. He looked at his arm, watching as the former bite mark slowly faded away as if there was never anything there in the first place. The only evidence of one was the blood that seeped around a hole in his once white sleeve. His head hurt so bad, too. It felt like someone was hitting him in his temple with a sledgehammer repeatedly. "Min-ho, you have to keep up!" On-jo's dad shouted at him, noticing that the boy wasn't acting himself. "Min-ho?" He looked up and forced a smile, his lip quivering slightly, but that went unnoticed by the older man.

"I'm alright." He said as he picked up his pace, pushing through the immense pain he was feeling, trying to seem okay. He was mostly trying to convince himself, though. Eventually, the group made it to the tennis courts, all of them basically throwing themselves in to get away from the zombies that were close behind them. "Run. Go inside!" Min-ho felt Mr. Nam place a hand on his back as if he were counting how many kids had made it in. Ha-ri was last in line and turned to shoot a zombie that was hot on their tail. However, she got knocked over by another one while she was distracted.

Thankfully, Mr. Nam was able to throw the zombie off of her and get her into the tennis court, immediately slamming the door shut after she was in safely. They started to run to the other side of the tennis court, but they stopped when they saw zombies surrounding that gate, too. "We can't go out there. We can't." Wu-jin said through pants. Min-ho felt sickly. He felt like if he ran anymore, he was going to die. Maybe he should've eaten something more. More than just a simple piece of candy. But. . . why did he feel hungry for something else? Something that would've seemed revolting to him before all of this, but now. . . he felt like a zombie. He truly did.

"What should we do, Dae-su?" Min-ho whined at the sound of the zombies behind and in front of him. They were annoying and painful. Min-ho turned around and looked at the zombies just in time to see them pile onto the door enough for it to break off of its hinges. Instinctively, he grabbed ahold of Wu-jin and pulled him close to him. What were they supposed to do now? There was no way that Min-ho could lire every single zombie away, one or two of them would still run to the group. And they couldn't get out from the other side because there were even more zombies over there. They were stuck.

But now they had Onjo's dad. The male quickly took off his backpack and grabbed a flare from it, lighting it just as fast. However, while he was doing this, a few of them got to the group, so the 'fighters' of the group started to fend them off. Min-ho heard the hissing of the flare and watched as the zombies followed the sound. Upon realizing that they were actually distracted by it, Mr. Nam threw the flare over one of the nets, the flare landing in the corner of the court. "Let's go."
