you slowly opened your eyes, the tiny bits of light that made it though your curtains had woken you up.
You sleepily reached over for your phone, it was 11am and there were a few texts from your best friend Ryan on your screen.
Ryan: Bar tonight? It's been a while since we've gone out
Ryan: it'll be my treat ;)
You and Ryan hadn't been out for a while, considering you were broke and unemployed at the moment.
He was the main thing that got you out of the house, he was persuasive any time you refused to do things with him.
You opened up your texts and sent a response.
You: fine, you know I can't say no to you
Ryan: awesome, see you at 8
You dragged yourself out of bed and hit your vape. It was an essential part of your morning routine.
After being fueled by the nicotine, you got yourself upstairs and out of your moms basement. Your family members weren't home, all of them at work or school, you enjoyed the peace and having the house to yourself.
As you poured yourself a bowl of cereal you remembered the fact that you had absolutely NOTHING to wear out.
You: ryan what do I even wear
You: you know I can't afford new clothes
Ryan: fine. I'll take you shopping
Ryan: I am NOT having you bail on me for "not having anything to wear" AGAIN
You: ryan you are too good to me
You: ily <3
Ryan: I'll be over in 15, be ready
You speedran your bowl of cereal, you still needed to shower and make yourself presentable, you couldn't believe Ryan thought 15 minutes was enough time to get ready.
After tossing your bowl in the sink, you made your way to the bathroom where you took the quickest shower of your life, half dried your hair and threw on some mascara and an easy outfit. Just as you put on your shoes, Ryan pulled up in your driveway.
You opened the door of his car and hopped into the passenger seat.
"I hope you don't plan to dress like a dad to the bar as well." You joked.
"I mean that was the original plan." Ryan replied. "Now let's go idiot."
He put the car into reverse and started off towards the mall.
"So, any real reason we're going out tonight?" You asked.
"Maybe." Ryan said.
"Is that just a draw to get me to come out with you? You know I'm a basement dweller." You replied.
Ryan laughed. "Maybe, I mostly just wanted you to get out of the house, being alone all the time isn't healthy."
"Hey! I'm not alone all the time!" You exclaimed. "I text you, that's basically the same as hanging out."
He shook his head.
He pulled his car into the mall parking lot and turned off the vehicle. The two of you stepped out and headed towards one of the entrances.
"I don't know how to dress myself so you lead the way." Ryan said.
"So you're saying I know how to dress myself?" You joked.
"(Y/N). You've seen my outfit."
"Whatever idiot, let's shop."
