Synopsis:

The Roman Catholic Church launched the Inquisition in the Middle Ages, which functioned as a policing force. Finally, on December 5, 1484, Pope Innocent VIII issued a papal bull (or ordinance) condemning witchcraft. As suggested in the ending, this playscript is based on the witch hunt. As Frankenstein the Monster meets a young maiden named Bethra (Beth for short), he experiences actual comfort and companionship. That is, of course, until Beth is seen with him in the village.

Characters:

Frankenstein (the Monster): The Monster is Victor Frankenstein's creation, assembled from old body parts and strange chemicals then later brought to life. He enters life enormously strong but with the mind of a newborn. Abandoned by his creator and confused, he tries to integrate himself into society, only to be shunned universally.

Beth: She is kind, sweet, shy, and quiet. Her purity was often a supportive characteristic that helped develop her bond with the Monster. Beth is a rosy, smooth-haired, bright-eyed girl with a peaceful expression that seldom changes at twenty-six.

Victor Frankenstein: Victor is the creator of the Monster. He held a smug opinion that he could confiscate God's role. Victor's fatal flaw was using his power to create life, leading to ruinous consequences. He is currently on the search for the Monster.

Worker: A greedy member of the village that wants to neglect others for his benefit.

Village Chief: He is the head of the village, strictly against witches, leading him to hang innocent women.
