Shinoa says as you all wait at the rear, hoping to protect Yuichiro.

The vampire quickly dodged all the soldiers and went for the back of the squad, as you could only perceive from the back and not from the front lines. Shigure, Mito, Sayuri, and Goshi attempted to repel it, but it seemed to have only one agenda since it has been looking at the back of the group for some time.

"Nevermind! We'll defend, you have that idiot after all!" Kimizuki ends the conflict as the four advances, while Shinoa tries to catch Mikaela's attention. "Mikaela! You're Yuichiro and Y/n's childhood friend, Mikaela Hyakuya right?!"

"Shut up!" Mikaela argues, opposing Kimizuki and Mitsuba's strike as he approaches you. You gripped Yuichiro firmly as Mikaela loomed in front of you and Yuichiro. "M-Mika..."

You stroke his dirty blonde hair locks while pressing your forehead against his before pulling away. "As always, I trust you, my dearest Mika, so look after our Yuu."

You walked to the bridge with Yuichiro by your side, chatting with the smaller kids, until you heard footsteps nearing rapidly.

The weight of the unexpected figure jumped on your back, giggling to himself as you stumbled to regain posture and balance.

"Mikaela! That was uncalled for!" You squealed.

"Hehe! Sorry, I couldn't help myself." He chirps as he clings to your neck, and you support his legs by trying to adjust his weight on your back.

"Big Brother Mikaela! Let's play together with Brother Yuu and Sister Y/n!" A small girl laughed uproariously as you slowly glanced at the figure, then returned to Mikaela and Yuichiro before nodding.
