Peter pulled up to a gas station in Connecticut and was looking through food when he got a notification on his phone and looked at it. It was a text from Kamala.
"Are you gonna post your photo from last night or what?" Kamala texted. Peter didn't bother finding a job with the fact that nobody had record of him. So he became the anonymous personal photographer for Spider-Man and other local heroes. He had become a bit of a celebrity online and he posted a new photo every day. Peter realized he had forgotten to post his photo from the previous night and he rolled his eyes and pulled his camera out of his bag. He always carried a brown satchel with him because it was all he had left of May. It was a bag that she used often. He carried everything in it. Peter actually had to steal it from the apartment. Peter then started looking through his pictures and found one that looked really cool and he smirked and used wifi to send it to himself. Peter then grabbed a few snacks and walked up to the counter.
"That'll be $14.35." The guy at the desk said and Peter tapped his phone to the card reader and then heard the receipt print off. "I can't put my finger on it, but you remind me of someone." Peter looked up to the guy and then immediately felt his heart stop. It was one of his classmates that he grew up with.
"I'm sorry. I don't recognize you." Peter replied. "I'm also not from here."
"Me either. I'm from Queens." The guy said. "Where are you from?"
"Uh.....Brooklynn." Peter quoted his old ally and the guy nodded.
"Maybe I've just seen you before or something then." The guy deduced and Peter smirked as he started leaving.
"Maybe. Have a nice day man." Peter sighed and then he rushed out as fast as possible. This would happen every now and then. Peter even ran into Happy again and not only did he recognize him from the graveyard but he commented on how he felt that he knew him form somewhere. Though everybody had forgotten he was Peter, and who Peter even was to them, they still felt a strange connection to him. It was weird for them but it was almost agonizing for Peter. He missed them so much and it was harder than anything to lie and act like he didn't know them......
After Peter moved into his new place he had to go to the school to meet up with the president of the university she was connecting him with two of the their best students to give him a tour of the university. Peter walked into the university main building and walked up to the front desk.
"Hi, I'm," Peter started to say and then he heard a woman say something.
"Peter Parker." Peter looked up and saw the president of the university. Standing beside her were the last two people he expected to be with her considering he knew for a fact that they weren't really social people. "It's so nice to finally meet you in person. You know it's not every day we ask a student who had to get GED instead of a high school diploma to attend this school." The woman said and then she and the two others walked over to Peter. "And just as I expected you are right on time. Peter, I want you to meet the leading lady of our Neuroscience department and our leading man for the computer engineering department."
At first, it hurt that their lives were so great without him. Then it bothered him that he had achieved so little do to his sacrifice and then sanity filled him again and he couldn't help but be proud of both of them because after all, he may have sacrificed his friendship and the love of his life to protect them, but he never stopped loving either of them.
"Hi." The girl said and Peter heard MJ's voice for the first time in 5 years.
"Hi." Peter said and then MJ recognized him from the coffee shop.
"Hey, you're from Queens aren't you?" MJ asked and Peter got the wrong idea.
"I'm sorry?" Peter said and the president stepped in.
