Out of reach

Midnight had just passed

I was tired from the day but I couldn't sleep,I am laid under my covers, in only the warmth of my own body heat, my hair spread across the pillow and over my face, the slightest wind was blowing through my windows and it was a relaxing night.

I felt a soft breath on my cheek, I though nothing of it just thinking it was the wind travelling through from my window.  It continued to happen. I reached across to my window and shut it.

I laid back down in my bed, back in the comfort of my self. I shut my eyes, hoping sleep would slowly take me. It did finally until I woke again from the same soft breathe it travelled back onto my check, I frowned trying to think of where it could be coming from. maybe I didn't shut my window all the way. 

I was taken out of my thoughts from a soft hand brushing back a piece of my hair, tucking it behind my ear. My eyes widened, my heart rate started to kick up. I was alone, well I was meant to be.

I made the decision to turn on the light, I quickly turned my body around to turn on the lamp on my bedside table, I fumbled with the switch trying my hardest to turn it on. Once I did, the light illuminated the room. My eyes squinted from the sudden light. A breath of relief escaped my lips, I looked around the room trying to focus my fuzzy vision from sleeping  and nothing was out of place it all looked the same.

I looked more closely, "surely I wasn't imagining it" I though, it felt real someone definitely moved a piece of my hair. I looked over at my mirror near my vanity and it had writing on it,

 "you look quite beautiful sleeping" it read, I stared at it my hearts pace become stronger the more I looked at the writing. Thoughts kept running my head. " who did this?" " im terrified" "how could they have gotten in?" I was petrified , I reached for my phone on my bedside table but the thought that ran through my head most was.

" I am not sleeping tonight"
