you had been with Cormac since before he started filming Heartstopper. you had never been more proud of someone. he had achieved so much in such a short amount of time and he was still progressing. you loved the relationship he had with each member of the cast and it was different for every person.

recently you had been getting quite a bit of hate from a few of Cormac's fans. you knew that you would because of jealousy but you did not think it would affect you this bad. you had been feeling very insecure with every comment talking about your appearance and they would compare you to each girl member of the cast.

you had told Cormac about how you were feeling and he assured you that you were beautiful and that there was nothing to worry about. you sometimes felt better when he reassured you but there was always the thought in the back of your mind that you weren't good enough and that you never would be.

Cormac had just finished filming for the day and his mum asked you to go with her to pick him up as he could not drive yet. you were sat in the front with her and you both spoke about how you were doing in school and you asked how she was doing in work. you arrived to the place where he asked to be picked up and you saw Cormac standing with an extra, laughing and smirking a bit.

you recognised the girl and all your insecurities came washing over you. she was playing with his hands, you had no idea why but they looked like they were flirting. you looked down at your lap and his mum bibbed the horn, basically telling him to hurry up. they both looked up at the car and he quickly took his hand away from hers and ran to the car. you got out the car to get into the back, allowing him to get in the front.

Cormac thought you were getting out to hug him so he opened his arms for you to hug him but you just walked past him and got into the back of the car. he stood there shocked for a minute before getting into the front to talk to his mum. you went on your phone, not really listening to their conversation. you felt eyes on you and you knew Cormac's mum was looking through the rear view mirror.

you finally arrived at Cormac's house but you felt awkward. you didn't really know what to say to him. you didn't know if he was talking to her because he had to or because he really wanted to and wanted to make you feel even more insecure then you already did. his mum unlocked the door and you went straight into the living room. you sat on the sofa and messaged your mum, asking her to come get you. it would be about 20-30 minutes before she got there so you decided to get comfortable.

'y/n? can you come up here please?' you heard Cormac shout. you got up from the sofa and walked up the stairs to his room. you knocked on the door and he allowed you in. 'what's the matter?' he said, watching you sit on his bed. 'nothing. i'm fine?' you said, trying to sound convincing. he gave you the "i know you're lying" look. you rolled your eyes and spoke up again.

'why was she holding your hand like that?' you said, looking down at your hands. 'oh my god is that it?' he said, chuckling a bit. 'i don't know why you care so much to be honest. she's just my friend' he said, still smiling. 'well i know that but you wouldn't like it if the roles were reversed. and you know how i've been feeling lately-' you said before getting interrupted. 'yes i know you've said fifty times "you're insecure" i get it i really do. you don't need to tell me over and over again' he said, using his hands to mimic quotation marks.

you scoffed slightly. 'i'm allowed to feel insecure when i'm getting hate comment after hate comment on my social media' you said, firing back. you are now sitting up properly on his bed, looking in his direction. 'okay well i didn't as for you to be so insecure. she's just my friend and you don't need to get insecure over every little thing' he said rolling his eyes again. is he serious?
