The queen's father was an awful man, killing and punishing people just for looking at him the wrong way. No one knew why he had done this, or why people supported him.
He had led the elven massacre, killing thousands of elves and tearing families apart, all because of his issues. The king was part fae, raised by his HUMAN father. His father was left with him and took all of his anger of that out on him, teaching him that the fae and elves were terrible and a danger to the kingdom. He was raised and forced to believe all of this, and he wanted to make his father proud by doing all of the killing and such. Once he found out his own family was fae, although he didn't want to, he had to cover it up, for people (especially his father) to take him seriously.
