" -/N)! (Y/N)! OPEN YOUR EYES!"
You opened your eyes and shot up, blinking in surprise before looking at the person who called you. Your throat closed as your eyes widened. Familiar expresso dark skin, a face with sharp features and a prominent nose, shaggy silver-grey hair swept to his left, and narrow monolid eyes filled with worry—his hand on your shoulder as he helps you up.
"(B/N)?" you croaked out, overwhelmed with emotion.
Your brother let out a laugh before fully laughing now, pulling you into a hug. "You're here! You're really here!" he chanted as he clutches you tighter, tears welling from his eyes. You let out a wet laugh as you hugged him back, the familiar warmth your younger brother gave you made you hug him tighter. "Where have you been?" he sobbed. "Uncle couldn't find you even with his contacts and I almost went crazy. Where."
"I'm sorry," you whispered, burying your face in his shoulder. "I'm sorry, I don't know how I ended up here too."
"But you're here." he rasped as he pulls away to look at you. When you looked at him, you realized that there were a few things different about him. There were dark circles under his eyes, his skin duller than his usual lively color, and his hair was messy. But the huge difference was his eyes, instead of the usual warm dark brown, his left eye was scarlet red while his right was a black hole - no iris nor pupil is seen, just black.
"What happened?" you asked, quickly cupping his face as you inspected his new eyes. "What happened to your eyes? Did someone pluck one of them? Did one of them bleed or-"
He chuckled at your fussing. "I don't know," he replied as he gingerly traces the hole that replaced his eye. "The night you were missing, my eyes hurt really bad so I went to you for help but that's when I saw your bed empty." His head drooped as he nuzzled into your hand. "I checked around our apartment but it was like you vanished. I was so worried by the time I called uncle," he looked up and gave you a sheepish smile, extending his opened hands in a 'ta da' gesture. "My eyes changed."
You furrowed your brows. "What about the people at the university? Did they-"
"No, they didn't notice," he replied, biting his lip. "It was weird, no one pointed it out neither did my friends, so I asked them what color are my eyes." He chuckled without humor. "They looked at me as if I grew two heads when they said the usual brown."
"What?" you flinched back in disbelief. "What about Uncle?"
"That's the thing," he looked at you with separation and confusion. "He was the only one who noticed."
Your eyes widened as you looked down. "Uncle. . ."
"(Y/N)," You looked up to meet the worried eyes - eye(?) - of your brother. "Where were you?"
You opened your mouth to answer when your hands went through him. Desperation charged through your veins as you reached out to him, trying to hold him. "Wait-!"
"(Y/N)!" He cried as he tried to hug you but his arms went through.
"(B/N)!" You cried before all went dark.
You shot your eyes open before being blinded by bright light. You blinked to adjust to the lighting before looking around, seeing the familiar rows of beds, trays of medical supplies, and the nurse ghost that frowned at you. 'Ah, the infirmary.'
The nurse ghost frowned deeper. "That's the second time, Mx. (Y/N)." he nagged. "Next thing you know, you're gonna be in a coma." you flinched at the scolding tone. "Sorry,"
The infirmary door clicked open, making you turn to meet the scowling headmaster. 'Ah, no. I another scolding.' As if sensing the incoming lecture, the nurse ghost floated away as the headmaster stomped toward you. "Mx. (Y/N), I told you what happens when you absorb and convert blot, didn't I?" he angrily asked, standing at your bedside.
