"What you did back there was something I'm not encouraging. I know that it was natural for you to react that way, but this couldn't be an excuse all the time," explained Brooke. But Harry wasn't listening.

"I'm going to be expelled, I broke the law of underage magic!" Harry said and started panicking.

Brooke turned to look at him.

"No one is going to expel you, Hazza. I know that you received that letter last year when Dobby did the suspension charm last year. But the circumstances this year are... different," Brooke tried to explain, but Harry was frantic.

"Look Harry, even if they confront you, Dumbledore won't let the expulsion happen. Neither would I. I need you to trust me, Hazza." Brooke said.

She knew that Cornelius Fudge would never let him get expelled. Not when his life is threatened by a serial killer who allegedly betrayed his parents.

"Lumos" Brooke said and the tip of her wand lit up.

In the corner of the street and beside a garage door, Brooke and Harry saw an outline of something very big with wide gleaming eyes. Brooke knew exactly what that was. But Harry didn't. He took a step back, tripped over, and landed in the gutter, while Brooke caught his wand.

Brooke stretched out her hand to Harry, still looking out for the thing she had seen when there was a BANG, followed by a blinding light.

A triple-decker bus, with the words The Knight bus written on it in shimmering gold, appeared out of nowhere and Brooke found herself face to face with a conductor dressed in purple. He was about 2-3 years younger than her, his face was dotted with pimples and large protruding ears.

"Welcome to the Knight Bus, emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard. And we can take you anywhere you want to go. My name is Stan Shunpike, and I will be your conductor this eve-"

Brooke pulled Harry up and the conductor looked at them for a moment.

"What were you doin' down there?" said Stan.

"Fell over," Harry said.

"'Choo fell over for?" sniggered Stan.

"I didn't do it on purpose," said Harry.

Harry turned to look at the alleyway, which was empty.

"'Choo lookin' at?" said Stan.

"There was a big black thing... Like a dog, but massive," explained Harry and Brooke winced with realization. Harry, however, didn't notice that.

"Woss that on your 'ead?" Stan asked and Harry abruptly covered his scar with his messy hair.

"Nothing."

"Woss your name?"

"Neville Longbottom," said Harry, and Brooke gave him a look.

"And, woss your name, blondie?" Stan asked Brooke.

"Merula Synde," said Brooke, saying the first name that came to her mind.

Harry then asked the conductor about the bus and the conductor answered, informing them that for eleven sickles, the bus would take them to London, for thirteen, they'd get additional hot chocolate and for fifteen, they were to get a hot water bottle and a colored toothbrush of their choice. But Brooke wanted to get out of that place as soon as possible and put a lot of distance between Harry and Sirius Black.

Brooke handed thirteen sickles to the conductor and turned to Harry.

"This bus will take you to the Leaky Cauldron. I'll meet you there itself, I've got some unfinished business," said Brooke, knowing that the ministry-approved bus in front of her would never harm Harry.

"But Bree where-" Harry started.

"I promise you, Harry. I'll answer all of your questions later. Alright?" Brooke said and Harry nodded.

Harry then boarded the bus and the bus disappeared.

Brooke turned towards the spot where Sirius had been, a few minutes ago and cautiously approached it, with her hand gripping her wand tightly.

"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, YOU COWARD BACKSTABBING WANKER?" Brooke called out. There was no answer.

"Revelio," said Brooke and pointed at the bush in front of her.

The bush parted to reveal a large black dog, as it squealed quickly.

"WHAT THE-" Brooke exclaimed. "Stupefy!"

The dog went flying away from the bush and landed a few meters away, morphing into a skinny man with black messy hair and those familiar grey eyes.

"Hello, Brooke," the man said with a weak smile. But Brooke didn't listen.

"Flipendo!" Brooke yelled and the man tripped backward.

"12 years away from me and this is what I get for a greeting?" Sirius exclaimed.

"You're lucky that I haven't killed you yet!" Brooke yelled, tears already beginning to rush down her cheeks.

"You do know that I would never do anything to hurt you, Brooke," Sirius said.

"You've already done enough, YOU MONSTER! What had James done to get stabbed in the back by his best friend?!" Brooke cried, shooting another spell at Sirius.

But Sirius had tears running down his face at this point, as he morphed back into his animagus form and disappeared before Brooke could send any other spell his way.

Brooke was furious, and overwhelmed too. After being betrayed by the person she and her family had put their faith in, the last thing she wanted to hear from the criminal was that he didn't wish to do anything to hurt her.

Nonetheless, she kept it together and wiped her tears away.

"Everything will be fine, Brooke," she told herself and apparated to the Leaky Cauldron.
