Raya POV This marking stuff was making my head swim. “I don’t know. The impulse is stronger between two shifters after their first phases.” After their first phases, What the hell did that mean?!

“What do you mean?” Crap, even I could hear the panic creeping into my voice.

“Let’s say the female hasn’t phased yet… the urges are there but… it’s… it’s… not overpowering…yet.” I could hear my heart beat in my ears. Yet, what did he mean by yet? Hold on… freeze… rewind. He said if the female hasn’t phased yet, could he be talking about me? I looked at Michal, daring to hope that he could want me. Our eyes met and I knew that my face revealed everything to him.

“Michal, when you say yet…?”
“I didn’t want to scare you… but… I mean you Raya.”
“You’re… choosing … me?” I said each word carefully still afraid to hope.

“Yes Raya I’m choosing you; however, I understand if this is too much for you, and I won’t make you choose me if that’s not what you want.” I heard the tortured tone in those words. God how could he think that I didn’t want him?

“Michal, yes this may be sudden, but I know what I want…” His head shot up at my words and I hope fill those amber eyes. “I want you.” His face lit up and he closed the small space separating us. His right hand tilted my face up as the other found the skin at the small of my back, pulling me closer. He bent his head down to mine, lips almost touching.

“Are you sure of your choice.” His voice had taken on a husky tone and I shivered from the excitement I felt.

“Very much so.” My voice was breathless. Damn he drove me crazy. His lips gently brushed mine and that was all it took. I threw my arms around his neck and crushed my lips against his. He seemed surprised, but he eagerly kissed me back. His hand slid to the back of my neck, holding me tighter. God, my body was on fire, all I could feel was him, all I could smell was him, all I could taste was him, and he was all I wanted. He broke the kiss to stare into my eyes. His eyes, so filled with love and passion, burned right through me. He bent forward and kissing up my jaw line and down my neck, he pulled back to breath heavily on his trail of kisses; giving me goose bumps. God he’s good at this. I wasn’t sure if I was going to melt or explode, all I knew was that Michal aroused feelings in me that were more than human. He brushed his lips up my neck to my ear. I shivered as I felt him nibble at my ear. I felt, rather then heard, him chuckle as his lips found mine again, hungry but patient. I felt those non-human feelings rise again and I understood what Michal meant when he was talking about your inner wolf. I could feel it, it was just a nudge, but I readily complied to the wolfish urge I was feeling. I broke the kiss and bit Michal at the base of the neck. I heard his gasp, felt his flinch, but my wolf wanted stronger control… NO! I pulled myself away from Michal, backing away. There was a weird taste in my mouth, odd but pleasant. Michal was staring at me, confused about something. That’s when I noticed the blood that was slowly seeping from the bite. My mind spun out of control. What the hell was happening to me?!

“Raya? Raya, baby, look at me.” I did as he asked and was caught off guard by what I saw, Michal was standing there and instead of being scared or disgusted, he looked like he was trying to calm a cornered animal. “Raya, I need you to calm down and focus.”
“Michal, I’m so sorry, something just came over me. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“Raya baby, I’m fine. Look I’m not even bleeding anymore.” my eyes flashed to the bite. Holy crap! He was right, he wasn’t bleeding at all. “I heal fast.”
