It had been a few weeks since Rhea had moved to Algiers with Elijah. With the absence of Esther's magic—thanks to Davina and Kol—it gave time for Rhea and Elijah to finally heal after the torture they endured together and fix their relationship back to its status of being strong. Rhea also managed to find the time to mourn the loss of her friend for the secondtime— while also plotting the death of Finn Mikaelson very violently and viciously. Algiers had been otherwise quiet with Elijah helping Marcel train more vampires for the faction. The community had been welcoming but there were some concerns with Rhea's hybrid status—Marcel guessed it was because they were afraid that Rhea's temper would get the best of her and might bite them out of spite. Rhea was used to bitchiness so she could live with some rumours and nastiness; so she made no effort to prove them wrong or right.
It was nice though—being in Algiers. It was still close to New Orleans that they could visit the rest of the Mikaelson family and everyone else in the city. Rhea and Elijah were able to connect again without being afraid of each other or afraid of hurting each other thanks to visions of it.
The niceness could never last forever, and they had learnt that when Marcel had texted them saying that he had saved Rebekah from being attacked by a coven of witches. They immediately dropped everything and rushed to Marcel's loft. When they arrived, Marcel was pouring himself and Rebekah a drink while the Mikaelson sister was pacing around in front of the couch.
"Are you alright?" Elijah asked his sister frantically.
Rebekah walked over to them while Marcel pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance, "Barely. They attackers knew me, Elijah. Not me-me, but—" she gestured at her body, "—this. Her. Whoever she is..." She looked at Elijah and Rhea anxiously, "They want her dead."
Rhea seemed puzzled, wondering what the person Rebekah was inhabiting could've done to have a whole coven of witches try to murder her in the street. Meanwhile, Elijah didn't seem pleased in the slightest by the news and walked over to Marcel, "Then we find them and show them why their anger is unwise."
"You don't want to mess with that crowd, alright?" Marcel advised, shaking his head, "We want answers, we need to ask Josephine LaRue. She serves as matriarch to the covens outside the Quarter. She'll know who wants Rebekah dead."
"How can you be sure?" Rebekah asked.
"She bankrolls Fauline Cottage." Marcel informed her and Elijah looked at him in surprise, "She'll know who you are and why you were locked up in there."
"And what if she wants to lock me right back up? I won't go back to that horrid place—" Rebekah worried.
"You won't go back there." Rhea assured her, sensing the stress radiating off of her just from the thought of going back to the asylum she had just escaped from.
