Ansley and Derek were sitting in Stiles' jeep in the hospital parking lot while Stiles was in the hospital, looking for Melissa. He had been searching the hospital for a significant amount of time without finding her.

"I can't find her," he said over the phone.

"Ask for Jennifer. She's been looking after my uncle," Derek tells him.

After a couple more minutes, Stiles' spoke again, defeated, "Yeah, well he's not here either."

"What?" Derek said, confused.

There were another couple of moments of silence. "He's not here. He's gone."

Derek looked at Ansley as they shared a look of realization. "Get out of there. It's him. He's the alpha," Derek said as he threw open the door of the jeep and started towards the hospital. "Stay there," he yelled back to Ansley. She, of course, didn't listen and climbed out of the jeep, following close behind.

The halls of the hospital were now completely empty of other people. As they got to where Stiles' was, they saw Peter and his nurse closing in on him. Derek rushed forward and slammed the woman's head into the wall. Ansley rushed to Stiles and pulled him out of the way.

"That wasn't nice. She's my nurse," Peter said as he stalked closer.

"She's a psychotic bitch helping you to kill people," Derek said before turning to Ansley and Stiles, " Get out of the way."

Ansley didn't question it, pushing Stiles, who hesitated, passed Derek, who launched himself at Peter with fangs and claws out. Peter caught Derek by his jacket and slammed him into one wall before turning and slamming him into the opposite wall. Stiles covered Ansley as the plaster cracked up the wall and rained down on top of them. Peter gripped Derek's neck and dragged him towards his nurse.

A growl erupted from Ansley before she launched herself at Peter, wanting to stop him from hurting Derek. Peter caught her as well, but didn't do the same that she had done to Derek. Instead, he held her wrists behind her back, his grip much stronger than her.

"Settle down, Little Luna," he growled at her. His influence on her started to take effect as she involuntarily relaxed. He released her hands and turned to Derek. "You think I killed Laura on purpose? One of my own family?" He dropped Derek to the floor before searching the nurse and pulling a set of keys out of her pocket. "My mind... my personality... was literally burned out of me. I was being driven by pure instinct."

Derek took the chance to launch himself at Peter again, but a kick from Peter sent him tumbling back into Ansley. "You want forgiveness?" Derek asked, flabbergasted.

"I want understanding," Peter snapped, "Do you have any idea what was happening to me in those years? Slowly healing cell by cell. Then even more slowly coming back to consciousness. Yes, becoming an Alpha... taking that from Laura... It pushed me over a plateau in the healing process. I can't help that. And I tried to tell you what was happening. I tried to warn you."

Derek went for another attack, launching himself at Peter yet again. Peter once again caught him and sent him flying across the room, crashing through a glass barrier. Ansley ran after her, making sure that he was alright. They entered the hospital morgue with Peter behind them. He stopped at a mirror and looked into it, inspecting his burnt face.

"I was going to wait. For dramatic flair. But..." Peter's voice trailed off as he spun the mirror. When it came to a stop, it showed his face fully healed. "When you look this good, why wait?"

Ansley crouched beside Derek who was struggling to stay conscious. "Please, stop," she began to beg. "Just stop hurting him."

"I didn't plan on hurting you," he directed at Ansley. "But you have to at least give me a chance to explain. After all, we're family." The grin he gave Ansley sent chills through her body. The next thing she knew, he was pulling Derek up to his feet and grabbing Ansley's arm before leading them out of the hospital.
