A loud explosion broke the silence, you could feel the pressure of the wind hitting you and Valka. As soon as things settled she let you go and you both turned to where the ice was. You let out a sigh of relief as you saw Toothless crouched over Hiccup. The dragon's fins were flowing a slight blue as he growled at Drago and the Bewilderbeast. You watched as the dragon climbed up the ice and roared directly at the giant dragon. You quickly pushed past the ice and ran over to Hiccup, he smiled and wrapped his arms around you. The boy lightly took hold of your face and brushed away your tears.

"I'm alright." He said softly. You smiled, pressing a harsh kiss to his lips before pulling away.

You lightly shook his shoulders, "Don't EVER do that again!" You scolded.

"Of course, M'lady."

Toothless roared once more causing you all to look over, "He's challenging the Alpha!" Hiccup said in disbelief.

"To protect you." Valka responded.

Toothless shot at the dragon sending it back slightly in recoil. It couldn't even spit ice at the dragon because of how many shots Toothless was taking. You were surprised that Toothless was already past his shot limit. The dragon jumped down to the ground, landing in front of the group of you, and let out a roar. You watched as all the dragons that were above the Bewilderbeast were now flying towards Berk, seemingly snapped out of their trance. You turned to see all of Berk and the dragon riders walking forward, their faces determined, Hiccup got on Toothless and flew up before landing on an ice spike with the other dragons.

"Now do you get it?" Hiccup called, "This is what it is to earn a dragon's loyalty! Let this end now."

Drago growled, "Never!" He pointed toward the dragons, "Come on!" As soon as the Bewilderbeast took a step the dragons surrounding Berk started shooting fire at the giant dragon. the Bewilderbeast reeled its head back preparing to take a shot before being cut off by Toothless who shot in its mouth, sending it back in recoil. One of its horns snapped off and fell to the ground. Toothless let out a series of roars and the Bewilderbeast bowed nervously.

"The alpha... protects them all." Hiccup growled.

The Bewilderbeast turned quickly, diving into the water and swimming away.

Hiccup nodded and then turned around with Toothless and flew towards the center of the crowd of people who were now cheering. You spotted the twins banging their heads together. All of the once stolen dragons now flew towards their owners, you looked around not seeing Rainsong anywhere. Your shoulders dropped as you tried to find her, you felt a soft nudge against your back and you turned around.

In front of you stood your dragon.

"Rainsong!" You called out, wrapping your arms around her. She buried her head into your neck and let out soft purring noises. You heard a thump as Cloudjumper landed on the ground in front of Toothless. The larger dragon let out soft cooing noises as he bowed to Toothless. All of the other dragons followed, bowing to their new alpha. Toothless lifted his head in the air and let out a roar followed by every other dragon on Berk.

Toothless then stepped over to Hiccup, the boy placed his hand on the dragon's head, "You never cease to amaze me, bud." He pressed his forehead against the dragons, "Thank you." Toothless let out a low purr, before licking Hiccup's face out of nowhere. He continued licking the boy, "Ahhh- Toothless, you know that doesn't wash out!" He called.

You glanced over and saw skull crusher nudging his head against Hiccup. The boy rubbed the dragon's nose with a sad look in his eyes.

"That was some pretty fine dragon-wrangling back there." Eret said, walking up to the two of you, "You'd make a good trapper." Skullcrusher nudged the man, "Woah." Eret said, laughing.

Hiccup smiled sadly, "You know... Skullcrusher is gonna need somebody to look after him now."

Eret looked over at the boy shocked, "Me?" Hiccup sent him a silent nod with a smile. Eret placed his hand on the dragon's snout, "I'd be honored."

Valka then walked over to Hiccup and grabbed his hands, "Oh, your father, he'd be every bit as proud as I am."

"Thank you." Hiccup chuckled sadly, "I'm really glad you're here, mom." Toothless walked over to them and nudged himself under Valka's arm.

"And here I'll stay."

You smiled as you walked up to Hiccup, "I told you, you had it in you." You smiled pressing your finger against his chest and pressing the button that unlocks the spring coil. You laughed while he chuckled sarcastically.

"That's hilarious-" He breathed sarcastically, "Come here, you!" He said grabbing your waist and pulling you into a kiss.

"Mm!" You let out a surprised hum before Hiccup slowly pulled away. He was tapped on the shoulder and then turned around to see Gothi standing behind him. She gestured for him to walk towards her, he nodded slightly and kneeled in front of her.

Gothi then wiped her fingers on some recently burnt logs and rubbed her fingers together. She brushed his bangs back and drew the mark of a chief on his head before sending him a small smile and bowing.

Hiccup stood up and turned to Gobber who had a proud smile on his face, "The Chief has come home!" He called out causing the crowds to cheer.

The people of Berk began chanting, "Long live the Chief!" And the dragons spit fire in the air as they celebrated the new Chief.

The two of you sat in the Great Hall surrounded by friends and family. You looked over at the man you once hated that you would now call your husband. He smiled and held your hand, "Care to dance?" He asked.

You chuckled softly, "I would love to!" The two of you stood up and walked to the middle of the room, the ceremony was coming to a slow and peaceful close and the two of you were finally getting your moment to dance. That was when the song started playing.

For the Dancing and the Dreaming.

You and Hiccup shared a sad smile before holding each other close and swaying to the music. Humming softly you rested your head on Hiccup's shoulder while Hiccup rested his chin on the top of your head. You were thinking back to the last time you had heard this song.

Your eyes welled up with tears and you thought about Stoick, you were sure that he was watching the wedding from Valhalla but still, the sadness that he never got to be at his son's wedding caused you to wish that you could go back and save him. The two of you pulled your heads back and looked each other in the eyes. Your hands rested on Hiccup's chest.

"I wish he was here to see this." You said softly.

Hiccup nodded, brushing hair back from your face, "Me too."

"He would have been so proud of you." You smiled sadly, feeling the tears flow.

Hiccup rested his hand on your face, wiping away tears, "He would have been proud of both of us. We've accomplished so much. And-" He paused, thinking back, "You have made me a better person. You've made me stronger (Y/N) and I don't think I could have done a lot of this without you." He pressed a kiss against your lips before slowly pulling away, "I love you, (Y/N) Haddock."

"I love you too, Hiccup Haddock." You said softly before pressing another kiss on his lips.
