YMIR P.O.V.
"You! Asshole! I don't want to see your fucking ass all day! Go away from my view!" I screamed to the guard that was in front of my gates.
"I can't" he simply answered, with his monotonous voice.
"Well, you could try to show me some respect!" I said a bit irritated.
"You are a criminal. I'm not supposed to show you respect" he said.
I rolled my eyes. I just wanted him to go away, that way I could put in place my plan to escape from that hell.I was in prison for about two days and I still didn't have any news from Christa. She wasn't the person to let happen something like this.
Were her parents and that asshole of Reiner avoiding her to have any contact with me?
This thought was making me angry. I wanted to go out of that prison to make them regret to be alive. All of them. Except my sweet Christa. She had no fault with all those happenings."Hey, you" the guard exclaimed, making me wake up from my thoughts.
I raised my head to look at him.
"Yeah?"
"Someone wants to talk to you. Come with me"
I looked confused at the man.
Christa... Is that you? Did you come to see me?
My heart started to beat faster at the thought of seeing my girl again. The guard led me out of the cell and we walked towards the place where criminals used to talk with their relatives and friends. There were already many women talking with their acquaintances. Women that had more reasons to be in that place than me...
The guard left me in front of a chair were I had to meet Christa.
I sat on it, waiting for her coming.A person emerged from the alley in the room. My heartbeat increased.
But, when I noticed that the figure that was reaching the chair was a bit taller than what I expected, and that had a masculine body, my expression changed.
I started to look at the person with an irritated glance. The person sat in front of me, at the other side of the glass that was separating us.
"Reiner..." I whispered angrily "what are you doing here?" I asked.
The blond man looked at me vaguely.
"I'm here to talk to you about something" he said, a serious look on his face.
"Where is Christa?" I said, ignoring him.
I didn't want to hear anything from him, I just wanted to see my girlfriend. I wanted to be sure that she was fine.
"Christa?" Reiner looked at me with a confused look "What do you mean?"
"You know exactly what I mean, you asshole" I said, whispering angrily at him.
I couldn't loud my voice more than that, otherwise the guard would have took me away from there, and the only chance I had to see Christa would have faded.
"Where is she?" I repeated.
"Christa..." he whispered, thinking about something "is this the way you call her?" he asked.
"Why are you asking this stupid question? You want me to change the argument? Just let me see her" I continued, while my glance was getting more irritated phrase by phrase.
"I'm not here to let you see her. But she is fine" he said.
He was completely trying to avoid that conversation. So, why was he there? What did he want to say me?
"If you're not here to talk about Christa, then why are you here?" I asked, calming a bit but still with my angry gaze.
"I'm here to talk about you. You are free" he said.I widened my eyes.
Free?
Was he for real?
Wait! Had Christa paid for my bail?!
No, I couldn't accept it...I looked at Reiner.
"Did she pay for it?" I asked.
"Her dad paid for it"
I looked confused at him. Her dad?
Wait... maybe... could it be that he changed his mind?
Could it mean that me and Christa...
"Did he do it?" I asked, calming down my anger.
"Yes"
I looked suspiciously at Reiner.
"Why?" I asked.
"He made a deal with your ex-girlfriend" he explained.
Ex-girlfriend... that hurt... especially said by a person like Reiner. But that also meant that Christa and I weren't supposed to be together...
"What kind of deal?" I asked.
"He said that he would have set you free if she would have agreed with the marriage"
"Marriage... with you?" I asked, even if I already knew the answer.
"Exactly"Christa renounced to her freedom only to give me mine... she decided to marry Reiner only to let me be free...
Christa...
I didn't deserve all that love. She was such a precious girl. She wanted to do anything for me... Christa... why?!I shook my head.
"I won't let her do it. She doesn't deserve to end with someone like you. Neither with me, actually..." I said with a whisper.
"Yeah, you're right, she doesn't deserve you. At least her parents trust me"
I looked angrily at him.
"Trust you? Ah!" I smirked "no, that's not what they think of you. That's not the reason why they'll let you marry her, Reiner. The truth is" I smiled even more "that we are the same, Reiner. We both like gambling, playing with girls' feelings, we both enjoy in flirting and we like smoking. We are just the mirror of each other. But" I looked deeply into Reiner's eyes "you know what's the real difference? That you are a man, Reiner, and I am a girl"
Reiner looked away casually.
"Well" he sighed "guess it's your problem, then" he said.
I gazed angrily at him.
"My problem? Weren't you the one that liked to flirt also with men about two years ago?" I said, rolling my eyes.
"That's something of the past, Ymir"
"Yeah... but you still seem the type of man that will never sleep with a woman"
"Anyway, I'll do it in a few, since I'm going to marry you're ex-girlfriend"
"If you dare touch even one of her hair, I'll kill you, asshole" I whispered.
"Yeah yeah" he said, waving his hand in the air "come on, I'll wait for you outside, the payment should have been made by now"***
Once outside that fucking prison, I was finally able to see the sunlight again.
Outside, I found a short fat man with blue eyes waiting for me and, beside him, there was her, my sweet Christa.
I immediately smiled as my eyes laid on her face.
Christa seemed to see me in that moment. She started to run towards me.
Her dad didn't stop her.
"Ymir!" she exclaimed, while we was running at me, her golden hair flying and shining under the sunlight.Once she reached me, she hugged me, crying.
"Ymir..."
I caressed her hair, under Reiner's glance. He had come near us to keep his eyes on me.
"Christa... You didn't have to do all of this for me..." I said.
"But, Ymir!" Christa looked at me, her sweet blue eyes full of tears "I had to!"
"But this way you won't be free..."
"It doesn't matter. What matters is that you are fine!" she exclaimed, hugging me again.
I looked at Reiner that was controlling us.
"Christa..." I whispered.
The girl raised her head to look at me.
"Yes?"
"Is this... Is this the last time I will be able to see you?" I asked, while the sadness was invading my body.
Christa lowered her head.
"Yes. I asked my dad if I could see you one last time before becoming Mrs Braun... he agreed"
"Maybe he secretly cares about you" I said with a soft smile, caressing Christa's cheek.
"Ymir..."
"Yes?"
Christa raised her head to look at me. She had a strange look on her face, she seemed worried but anxious at the same time.
Was something wrong?
"What's up?" I asked.
"I... My name... I'm not..."
Chrsita sighed, lowering her head.
"Ymir, if this will be the last time I will be able to see you, I have to tell you the truth"
I was looking intensely and in silence at Christa.
What was she trying to say?
"Is everything ok?" I asked.
The girl ignored me.
"I've never told you before, because I was scared. I don't even know why I haven't told you anything in the past month, but... Ymir... my name is not Christa. My real name is..." Christa finally raised her head again "my real name is Historia"
