I sat back in silence, too overwhelmed to speak as I watched Alessandro floor the car past the several reporters surrounding the building. Luca let out a whoop as I leaned my head back on the headrest, trying to process the sudden publicity regarding Sergio. Up until now, it had just been him in the spotlight and all over the news, but hearing my name as his lawyer was a different thing. Well, I guess I'd just have to get used to it - it was part of the job.

I could still hear my name shouted from behind us, as the voices eventually faded away. How the fuck had they known my name? So far, we hadn't even had a hearing nor had we revealed that we were Sergio's legal counsel. So how the fuck had they found out? Sneaky little shits.

"You're going to listen to me this time. We're going to my place and that's final." Sergio's voice cut through my thoughts as I saw him look at me through my peripheral vision.

"I wasn't going to fight you on it." I replied evenly, turning to look at him as I watched a surprised expression flit across his face before he covered it up.

"Oh. Okay."

The rest of the car ride was spent in silence, my mind still reeling from the sudden change in events and from the memory of what we had almost done in the morning had Luca not interrupted us. Thank fuck. The car rolled to a stop as Sergio got out. Before I could open my own door, he was there in an instant, his hand outstretched towards me as I hesitantly took it.

"I don't bite. Unless you want me to, of course." His signature dimple made an appearance as I suppressed the urge to lick it.

Wait, what the fuck was wrong with me?

Not knowing what else to say, I simply rolled my eyes before following him inside.

The lobby of his apartment building was made out of marble, the floors and ceilings shining so bright as if they were polished everyday. A young man, whom I presumed to be the doorman, opened the doors for us as his eyes stayed glued to his feet. He mumbled a shaky good evening sir as his eyes darted to me. Taking pity on him, I sent him a small smile which he pretended to not see, focusing his gaze on the ground again. God, what kind of stuff was Sergio feeding these people to have them so afraid of him? Oh wait, I forgot, the fact that he was an infamous criminal was more than enough of a reason.

As we entered, I took note of the expensive chandelier that hung above, the diamonds glinting in the light. A petite woman came forward, her eyes widening at the sight of Sergio with Luca and Alessandro not far behind us.

"Mr Agosta. We didn't know you'd be arriving so soon. We would have -

"Are they done with the work?" Sergio cut in as he adjusted the sleeves of his shirt.

Shit. That was so hot for some reason. Wait, stop. Focus, Gianna. You were here just for a while and not to drool over your client. I kept repeating the word client in my head as I tuned out the conversation between the woman and Sergio.
