"So you're telling me, you are the Loki Friggason-"

"Odinson," Loki interrupted the tired, desi woman.

"Friggason," they emphasised on the name, "Who's home planet was destroyed, civilization boarded on a spaceship and headed towards Earth before all being destroyed by a purple grape, who then tried to kill you but you somehow ended up here?"

"Yes," he sighed, "I believe this is either Valhalla or Hel, and I most probably would be in Hel."

You slapped his arm, glaring at him from his side. You and Nino were discussing how Loki ended up there after your shifts had ended and he had a cup of tea. You knew if anyone could figure out what the hell was happening, it was Nino.

"I can't believe you'd think this was Valhalla," you laughed sarcastically, "And if this was Hel, she'd have a crown."

"Damn right, I would," Nino smirked. Turning to Loki, she put her hand forward, across the booth and towards the god, encouraging him to hold her hand, but only ending up confusing him.

"What?" he asked quizzically.

"She wants you to give her your hand," you picked up Loki's right fist, which was much bigger than yours, and placed it in Nino's palm.

Her hand size was almost similar to yours and also fit into his hand well, but there was just something between them that made it so uncomfortable, made their fingers shift and their palms itch with restlessness.

Maybe it was just you who was thinking about all of that hand-holding nonsense because as soon as Nino spoke again, you mentally jolted awake and shifted your focus back onto the conversation.

"I've got it," they said, "Loki, my bitch, you have successfully achieved what I have longed to do for years. You have mother-fucking shifted realities!"

"What?!" Both you and the god exclaimed, mouths hanging open.

"If my theory is true, you have moved across space and time from your reality where magic exists to our reality where it doesn't. However, I believe it's unintentional shifting as you seem to be surprised by your own capabilities."

They let go of his hand and started to pace around the diner, continuing their explanation.

"Y/n, sweetie, you know those fanfics where the reader shifts from our reality to the MCU? Yup, this is it, but there's a plot twist. Instead of us going to him, he comes to us!"

"Holy shit," you whisper facing Loki.

He was terrified. He had switched realities? How? Why was he able to do it only now?

"Why have I only been able to do it now?" He asked the waitron, much like a puppy, you thought.

"Well, to my knowledge, shifting takes a lot of willpower and determination. You said that you moved realities after almost being killed by the purple saggy nutsack, right?"

Loki chuckled a bit, something that genuinely made your heart beat just a little faster. Maybe it was just your undying crush over Hiddleston, but Loki, however fictional he may be(or have been, in this case), seemed to just make you smile, no matter how.

"Yes, um, 'purple saggy nutsack' did try to kill me," he nods.

"Well, then, I suppose it was just your will to live," Nino explains.

"I will never be able to switch realities then, seeing as I have none," you joked, making Loki's grin widen.

"If you're anything like the MCU Loki I love and cherish, you have superiority and inferiority complexes, daddy issues, undiagnosed depression, suicidal tendencies, and my headcanon, self-harm tendencies and scars on your hands."

They reached out and grabbed Loki's hand, taking them by surprise again, and pulled up his turtleneck sleeve, revealing healed scars.

"Ha! Take that user TomHollandsButtcheeks14! I was right!" They exclaimed in pride.

This action of theirs, unfortunately, made the god mad, materialising a dagger in the other hand and pushing them away as you try to stop him.

"Don't touch me," he spoke through gritted teeth, pointing the blade right above Nino's throat.

"Loki!" You raised your hand as a preventive measure, "As much as they deserve it, they're not helpful dead!"

"Well, that is true," they coughed, "I am also unsure of whether I'm scared or turned on-"

"Wha-"

"Nevermind Nino," you calmed him down, "Are you okay? How are you dealing with all of this? I know it's a lot of information to process."

Loki's racing mind finally started to slow down and his anxiety increased with each breath he took. Was Thor okay? If he shifted realities, did that mean that he didn't need to be bothered with finding Thor and that his brother would be alright?

"Hey, are you okay?" you reached your hand across the table, softly stroking his skin with your thumb to calm him down.

"Nino, apologise to Loki right now," you ordered them. They faced Loki and with a lowered head sighed and apologised to the god, explaining that they shouldn't have been so inconsiderate of what he was experiencing at that moment and instead of making inappropriate jokes and trying to dig up about his past, they should have provided mental and emotional support to the god.

Loki just nodded his head, trying his best to steady his breathing, which was somehow synchronising with the repetitive stroking of your thumb.

"You wanna go home?"

"I see you've taken a liking to my apartment," you tried to cheer up mentally exhausted god.

"Um, yea, it's nice," he answered absentmindedly. Loki was honestly just wishing for a nap or some rest. He had just found out that he wasn't in the world he was actually meant to be in.

"Would you like a nap? You seem exhausted." You offered sympathetically.

"A god doesn't need a nap," he growled before proceeding to pout cutely. Loki had a sort of childish expression on his face, with the way he scrunched up his nose and folded his arms, that was the only way it could be described. He was a little afraid that he was so vulnerable, that you could see through him, knew what he wanted and how he was feeling.

"Mhm," you teased, "Well then, I guess you can help me clean this apartment."

"You know, it's really hard to keep my eyes open," Loki moved towards the couch, rustling around the cushions, "I think I'm just going to close them for a minute."

"Uh," you hesitated at first, "you can take my bed if you want, I know the couch is a little bit small for you."

"Thank you," he smiled gently before walking into your room, admiring the numerous posters and stickers that covered all flat surfaces in sight.

"Silly god," you laughed to yourself. Maybe this was a dream, but hopefully, it wasn't. So sweeping and mopping your entire apartment, you kept your mind on the god sleeping on your bed.
