Dawn West-Allen: Part Two

I got an emergency alert on my phone forcing me to pull myself together.

"Where did you go?" Nora asked as I ran alongside her.

"To the bathroom." I said. "is it Cicada?" I asked.

"I think so." Nora began. "It was multiple re-"

Nora stopped talking and stared forward.

"It was multiple what?" I asked. "Nora?"

Nora sped past Dad and me without any warning.

"Okay lightning bolt on three." Dad said into his mic.

"One..."

"Two..."

"Three!"

I came to a complete stop before swinging my arm to release the lightning. All three of our bolts were heading toward Cicada two but she flew away right before they could strike her.

The three lightning bolts crashed into each other and dispersed into a ball of light as everyone covered their eyes.

"Where did she go?" I said looking into the sky.

"Nora!" Dad said gaining my attention to the red and purple lightning surrounding Nora.

Once she was able to calm down her lightning returned to normal again.

After changing out of our suits Nora and dad were called in by CCPD for CSI work at the Cicada site and Mom dragged me along. I love reporting but I didn't want to go today, however, mom wasn't taking no for an answer.

"Hey." mom said as we caught back up with Nora and Dad. "You guys, okay?"

"Yeah, uh, I need to tell you something." Nora began." When we were running over here, I connected to grace's mind again."

"That's why you zoned out?" I asked as Nora nodded.

"I was seeing through her eyes." Nora continued.

"Wait, like the same thing you did when Cicada attacked Vickie?"

"Yeah, we must still be mentally connected from when I was in grace's mind." Nora said.

"That's what caused the red lightning." Dad began." The anger that you felt wasn't yours."

"It was hers." Nora added." We can use this. If I can see where she is just for a second, we can run to her. This is the key to stopping Cicada two-"

"-No." mom interrupted." It's too dangerous, we don't even know what the side effects are. We just got that stuff out of you we don't want to risk exposing it to you again." Mom finished as Dad agreed.

"Mom, I want to do this-"

"-We'll find another way." Dad said.

We all know Nora doesn't take no for an answer. I'm not even sure why I expected this time to go any different than any other time. Especially since Nora had extra time on her hands since dad back-seated her.

"Stand still and be quiet!" Nora said holding my hand.

She suddenly began vibrating causing me to vibrate.

"What's going-"

"Shush-" Nora said as everyone entered the cortex.

They had a short meeting about what to do next that I was supposed to be at until Nora asked for my help. Eventually, the rest of the team left, leaving mom and Dad. They began talking about leaving Nora out and me acting weird.
