An Endless Date

"Hey, there's my honey. How you've been? " Said Anna, hugging me

She's different. I don't know how or why, but she seemed different. We're at ROR. She brought her friend, and Ben came along with me. I asked Anna if I could bring him, and she agreed. I remember Ben asking me to invite him whenever I dated Anna. If Megan was there, so did I.

I don't know if I'm dating Anna or not, but I like the sound of it. We ordered burgers and coke. We talked to each other randomly, about the school, about the portions that Anna missed. Ben has been busy flirting with Anna's friend Megan.

We talked normally; she explained how her days went in the city and about her sister's wedding. She showed us some photos. I didn't say anything about those un-replied texts or unanswered calls. I'm just happy that she's back and she's in front of me now. That's the only thing that matters as of now. Even though I'll get my own time to talk about all that with Anna. I just don't want to get anything on that before Ben and Megan.

We came out of ROR around 8:30. The night seems cool with a Halfmoon and full of stars. Ben offered to walk with Megan up to her house, to which she agreed. Anna and I headed toward the clock tower.

"Seems like Megan and Ben are into something," said Anna.

"Yeah, I think so," I said, not turning to her.

"Seriously, what's the matter with you?" She stood and said

"With me? Nothing, I'm fine."

"Nope William, it's not fine. It's been nearly twenty days and this is the first time we're seeing each other since. You cannot just act like this."

"Like this? Like what? "

"Weird. You're acting weird. You didn't even say anything about the photos I showed. Now you're not even looking at me. Did something happen? Because if something's there, you have to spit it out. You can't just...

"Can you stop it?" I interrupted her, "If the changes in my behavior worry you that much, it will be the same with me. Did you even reply to the texts I sent you while you were away? At least a single one? Well, why did you act differently? I can ask the same. " I said in a strong voice.

What in the hell happened to me?!

" Seriously, is this about that? Didn't I tell you that I can't text or call much while I'm away? "

" Yeah, maybe it's just for me, I think. You can talk to others, right? "

"Shit!" exclaimed my mind.

"What other guys? Seriously, get to the point. " She said, walking near to me.

"You text some boy named Allen all the time you are in the city. Why not me?"

"And you know how?" She asked with a suspicious expression on her face.

"Somehow, that's not the point..." I got interrupted by her

"How do you know about Allen?" She said, in a loud voice,

"Okay, I saw your phone when you went to the washroom. There was a text from someone named Allen that popped up. It says' YOU REACHED HOME?', Ben and Megan were not observing, so I went through the chat."

"You went through my phone while I'm not present and you think that I'll be okay with you questioning some guy's text." She yelled angrily.

Okay, she's furious this time.

"I just saw..." I got interrupted

"I didn't expect this from you, Will. You can't just go through my phone and question me about some text you saw. "

That's it. I'm furious now.

"Can you get to the real point here? Why can't you just say who's that Allen guy, huh? You said you can't text, but there are late-night chats with him. How do you explain that? " I shouted

Do I even know how to be angry? And it's Anna.

"That's none of your business, and Allen is my friend from my old school. He lives across from my apartment in the city where I used to live. Is that fine?" She said

"That still doesn't explain why you ignored my texts."

"Because, my mom used to be around me all the time, and for God's sake, it was my sister's wedding. She could have taken my phone at any time. She can't see me and you texting. Didn't you see that I blocked you?"

"Yeah, that I noticed."

"Who will text even after knowing they're blocked?"

"Can she know that you're talking with this Allen?"

"Yeah, she can. My family knows him very well. It is complicated to explain all the situations there with him and my family. Can't you trust me and agree that I blocked you for a reason?"

"Do you know how difficult it was for me?" I cried out "Do you know how long I waited to hear from you? Hours turned into days turned into weeks. All I did was distract myself with some work from you. It was pretty sad. Hearing that you have a closer friend than me at this time gives me more to deal with. Is it complicated to explain him? "Then you better take care of those feelings. Cause in no way are they going to do good for you and me. " Anna said with that stubbornness, I have never seen.

"Oh yeah, then we better stop talking. It's no better for my feelings. " I said (stupidly).

"Yeah, I'm saying it. You can walk back home all alone. I care for my feelings. " I said, moving backward from her.

Anna turned and walked away. She said nothing. She didn't even turn back. I drowned in my ghostly thoughts. I regretted, screamed, and cried on my way to Lucas's home. I rang the bell, and he came to the front door. I remember he told me that his parents were going to see his grandmother and wouldn't be home for two days. I could hear the X-Men theme playing in the hall as he opened the door.

"Can I come in?" I said

"Of course! What happened to you?" He said surprisingly.

I saw Liam sitting on a couch watching the movie Wolverine.

"Hey rivers, how have you been?" Liam said as he saw me.

"Fine! Is Ben here? " I asked.

"Nope, he said he'd come with you somewhere. Didn't you go?" said Lucas

" Yeah, he must be home by now. I want to ask a favor. " I said

"What is it?" asked Liam and Lucas.

"Can we smoke? And booze, of course."

After a pause, "I'm calling Ben. It's going to be a hell of a night. " said Lucas.

It's been one hell of a night... I thought.
