"You were not what I expected, you are too weak." Mido slashed with his sword and Ayn barely managed to block the attack.

However, the different strength could not be compared, Ayn was quickly being overwhelmed by Mido's sword. Yakumo as quickly as possible went to help, Mido saw this coming, so without much effort he kicked Yakumo in the stomach and sent him flying. Right now, the only one who could fight Mido is Rathion, but his body is giving up faster than expected.

Ayn could no longer block the sword, the blow was strong and heavy, causing his  hands to tremble at the impact alone. This caused him to lose his grip on his sword, which Mido noticed and sent the sword flying from Ayn's hand. The despicable man didn't want to end Ayn's life just yet, so he grabbed him by the neck, lifted him off the ground, and started choke him.

Ayn tried his best to break free, but to no avail, he doesn't have the strength necessary to break free. Rathion and Yakumo did their best to help Ayn, but Mido wouldn't let them get close, determined to make this place Ayn's tomb. To achieve his commitment, Mido called his Lost Knights who were hiding nearby. One of them would be enough to give those two weak revenants trouble, but Mido let them fight together, better to kill them when he got the chance.

As Rathion and Yakumo struggle to deal with the Lost Knights, Mido took this opportunity to continue torturing Ayn, and there's nothing better than letting him inhale the red miasma. He grabbed Ayn's mask forcefully, pulling it off, then threw it to the ground and stomped on it, crushing the mask.

Yakumo, who saw all this, couldn't contain his anger, he knows that if he doesn't do something, Ayn will become a Lost. But what could he possibly do when he is currently fighting against Mido's minions?

"Yakumo, please take care of the enemies."

Rathion struck the Lost Knight with his greatsword, sending him flying in Yakumo's direction. The Knight collided with his partner, giving Yakumo the opportunity to turn things in his favor.

Without wasting a second, Rathion rushed forward without letting Mido have a chance to react in time, he cleanly cut Mido's hand that was still holding Ayn's neck. Then he carries the young man in his arms and gets away from Mido.

"There is still time to save you." Rathion removed his mask and puts it on Ayn's face. "Don't worry, I won't let you die in a place like this."

Ayn grabbed Rathion's hand, he didn't want to accept the mask, not when it would take Rathion's life.

"Ayn, I understand how you feel, but there is no salvation for me, so please let me at least protect you." Rathion squeezed Ayn's hand. "You and your older brother will always be an irreplaceable existence within my heart, the time we spent together in the hospital will always be one of my most precious memories. I may not have been able to protect him, but at least I can protect you."

Rathion gave Ayn a photo along with a letter, there was something else besides the photo and letter, however, Ayn already has his brother's pendant hanging around his neck. Rathion leaves Ayn's side to finish his fight with Mido, he must finish this fight before losing himself completely and ends up attacking his comrades.

Ayn couldn't read the letter in a situation like this, so he just looked at the photo, his eyes widening in surprise when he saw the person standing next to him in the photo.
The man he couldn't save named Oliver Collins was standing near him with his arm around Ayn's shoulder in the picture, that means Oliver is the older brother Rathion was talking about.

Ayn grabbed the pendant and squeezed it, now he knows why the pendant was so familiar to him and why he felt so sad when he couldn't save Oliver. Ayn wanted to remember the time he spent with Oliver, he wanted his memories back, including the memories he lived with Jack and the time he spent in the hospital where he met Rathion.
