❝Jᴜɴᴇ 20ᴛʜ 1985❞

Today, around two Dustin had to leave for summer camp. You didn't really want Dustin to leave, it felt like it was gonna be a long time when you knew it wasn't, but two weeks was still two weeks. You weren't sure what you were gonna do without him, you felt kind of alone. 

You had only hung out with Dustin in the past couple days. Maybe you could ask Max and Eleven, depending on what's going on with them. But up until 1:30, you were hanging out with Dustin, starting with ice cream early in the morning to hanging out at the old junk yard by yourselves.

 It was just you and Dustin, Dustin was a little taller than you, but it seemed different, it felt you guys were never gonna see each other again. Dustin held you close, humming a song that you didn't recognize but you still listened, also listening to his heartbeat. 

It seemed to soothe you into a trance, you guys stood there for what felt like a couple minutes but what turned out to be an hour. He only had two hours, it didn't feel like enough, you wanted more time, you didn't want to leave Dustin. 

He pulled away from the long hug you guys had kept, he stared into your eyes. "I have to leave, we have to, to say goodbye," he whispered, you shook your head, "and what if  I don't want you to leave?" you asked, giving him a mischievous smile. 

He laughed, "I'm gonna miss you too, (Y / N), but I need to go to this, my mom already signed me up and paid," he replied, you frowned, "I don't want you to leave," you whispered. He used his fingers to lift your chin up, forcing eye contact.

"I'm sorry, (Y / N), I love you though, I'll be back before you know it," He whispered, kissing your lips gently, swaying both of you and keeping your lips together. Your lips moved in sync, kissing gently and softly. You pulled him in, deepening the kiss. His tongue slipped in, you groaned quickly, trying to show dominance against him. But he won, pulling you closer to him, keeping his hands on your back. 

He pulled away, grabbing some air and kissing down your neck and sucking, leaving you with some purple marks on your neck, he pulled away, you breathed heavily. "You'll have something to remember me when you look in the mirror." He said smiling. You smiled back, "you're such a tease, Henderson," you smiled. He rolled his eyes slightly, "c'mon, lets go say goodbye to the party." He smiled. You nodded slowly, not wanting Dustin to leave. 

You dragged behind him slowly, trudging your feet as you followed him back to his house. The party was waiting for him, his mom was packing up his stuff, Dustin frowned knowing he'd have to leave as soon as he said goodbye. You frowned as well, not wanting Dustin to leave, you'd feel sad if he was to leave at that moment. 

Dustin said goodbye to everyone and looked at you, frowning with tears pricking at his eyes. He hugged you in that moment, holding you tight, "i-it's okay, Dustin," you whispered, tears starting to prick at your eyes as well, "it's only 2 weeks..." you finished, quickly kissing him. He nodded, "I'll be counting down the days," he whispered back, releasing you to get into the car. 

He buckled up, backing out, he waved as he left. Tears slipped down your face, you missed him already..

Your brother scooped you a scoop of ice cream as you sulked in the back of his work. He gave you the ice cream and frowned, "it's okay (Y / N), he'll be back, it's not like he'll be gone forever," he exaggerated, you nodded, "I-I know, I just... I miss him already..." You whispered, he nodded, "I understand," he said gently, tucking a hair behind your ear. You smiled at him, eating your ice cream and thinking of seeing him again.
