Gilgamesh: Of course I am. When aren't I?
As the child tried to explain things to me. I was planning on interrupting him mid-explanation, only to let him go on uninterrupted when his once innocent eyes became vacant of all emotion.
Or at least seem to mimic it somewhat. But what it didn't have in authenticity, it made up for with decades worth of tragedy behind them. Some from personal experience, The rest from learning the tragedies of another.
Shirou: Humanity always seem to be drawn to things that result in them killing innocent people either for kicks, or it was apart of their plan and the worst part? they don't draw a line for anything, everything is free game as long as their willing to sacrifice a few lives either by accident, or by choice.
Shirou: All the lives on Alimango Island get turned to ghouls after Shirley try's to prove your experiments help people only to become a dead apostle? A sad accident that gave nice data for the next experiment in the mind of Norikata Emiya. The two thousand lives that were living in Present mountain? All used in the experiments of Heinrich Zepter who had a kink for making monstrosities out of the corpses or limbs of random things. Worst part was they were still alive when he was giving them orders. The Holy grail itself, an 'Omnipotent' neutral wish granter? Became a cup that acted as a monkey's paw all cause the Einzbern's were willing to summon all of humanity's evil just to win. No matter what, humanity gets involved with something which leads one or two of them willing to sacrifice many just to further their own plans.
Gilgamesh: ... For a young Mongrel, your disturbingly well informed of how bad humanity as a whole is. Especially in this day and age.
Shirou: I know. Mom and Dad try helping me talk about it. It doesn't do much, But... I'm happy they gave me half an hour to just talk about it with them.....
Just as I thought the child was gonna continue on rambling on. He instead started to ease up bit by bit after mentioning his parents, till eventually his once Vacant eyes started to carry life again.
Thinking the small Mongrel may need some more time to get back to normal. I decided to take a break for a while till we continued on to the church, then proceeded to lean on a nearby wall as the child sat down next to me.
Gilgamesh: ... specking of helping. I realized you have yet to ask what I need your help in accomplishing.
Shirou: I know.....
Gilgamesh: So why aren't you asking? I'm giving you permission to ask whatever questions you may ask of me till we get to our destination.
Shirou: well.... It's cause I don't really care.
Gilgamesh: Excuse me?
Shirou: If Mom and Dad didn't tell me to listen to strangers. I would've followed you regardless if you were Gilgamesh the first hero, or some nobody off the streets. If I can help someone? Then I couldn't care less about what they need my help for.
Gilgamesh:.... So let me get this straight. If I were to say I needed your help to summon the devil himself. You'd still help me do it? Regardless of the fact that It's THE devil?
Shirou: Yeah. Why? Do you need me to summon the devil for some reason?
Gilgamesh:... Oh my me, your serious right now.
