Ethics – ethics are concerned with whether an action is right or wrong. We will look at the following ethical issues:
-computers in the workforce;
-automated decision making;
-artificial intelligence;
-environmental effects;
-censorship; and
-monitoring behaviour.
Cultural Issues
Layout- in the west advertising and web-design is more minimalist, whereas in the east there is lots of info packed in. Layout also needs to be considered differently for different languages, as languages like Arabic read right to left, and German words are often considerably longer
Colour Paradym- colours in different cultures can often mean different, and sometimes opposite, things. Symbols and images can also mean different things.
Character Sets- ASCII doesn't have enough bits to represent characters from all different languages, so Unicode is often used instead.
Social Issues
-About how computers, and the access to them, has affected society (and people)
