9; imagine a world like that

i went up and hugged lola from behind, wrapping my arms around her waist and softly attacking the side of her head with kisses. she laughed, making music to my ears. "what'd you order for dinner?" i hummed, curious of what we'd be eating. "sushi and teriyaki noodles..." she trailed off, looking away innocently.

"angel."

"vinnie."

"that's our third time eating sushi this week." i chuckled and shook my head in disapproval. i didn't actually care, though. i just wanted to mess with her. i'd eat sushi for every meal if it'd make her happy.

"it's my favoriteee, and you can never have too much!" she smiled and turned around in my arms to give me a sweet kiss, shutting me up before i had time to keep arguing. i hummed into the kiss, making lola giggle against my lips as she knew that was me letting her win. she always won, and i was perfectly fine with that.

she pulled away from the kiss and smiled at me, "can we watch a movie?"

the movie we ended up choosing (shrek 2. my choice, not lola's.) finished about 2 hours later, and all the food had been eaten. "do you wanna watch the third one?" i looked up at lola, who was playing with my hair as my head was in her lap, impala on mine.

"hell no, third one is ass," she scrunched her face up in disapproval, and i couldn't help but laugh. "that's fine, i've been meaning to talk to you about something, anyway," i smiled, turning off the tv and setting the remote beside me. she raised her eyebrows, "me too. good or bad?"

i smiled and sat up, "good, very good. i was thinking about the wedding. do you think we should have it here or...maybe in california?"

she gave me a small smile, "you'd be willing to go all the way back to california?"

"of course! i mean, it's where we met...and our family having to go there would be easier than coming all the way over here." i nodded, and linked our fingers together.

"then...yeah. i'd like that." she smiled wider, and watched me as i brought her hand up to my mouth to kiss it.

"i can't believe you're gonna be my husband."

"i'm more than lucky to be able to say you're gonna be my wife."

she looked at me with those eyes, those precious eyes, before leaning in and kissing me on the lips. the kiss started out innocent and passionate, but quickly turned heated and lustful.

she moved into my lap as we made out, my hands moving to hold her ass as i got up and carried her to the bedroom. we just moved into the house, i don't know it too well. but, i know it well enough to carry lola to the bedroom without being able to see, so that's something.

i laid her down on the bed, crawling on top of her as we kept kissing, getting even more carried away as i kissed from her jaw to her neck and slid my hand into her shorts.

"wait, wait, wait, vin, hold on," she says out of breath, and i stop immediately as i look up at her. "i...there's something that i-i need to tell you before we continue any further." she clarified, and i could tell she was nervous from the way she looked at me.

i sat up and nodded a bit, "go ahead."

"i..." she looked down then back at me, "vin-vin, i'm pregnant."

my mouth dropped slightly and my eyes bulged out of my head, "what?"

"i'm pregnant...i found out yesterday. i should've told you sooner, i'm really s-" i cut her off with a kiss, a smile breaking out on my face.

she pulled away from me and smiled as big as me, "i take it you're excited, then?"

"i'm gonna be a dad...oh my god, i'm gonna be the father of your children!" i exclaimed, being overwhelmed with excitement as i hugged her, not too tight as i was scared of hurting the baby. our baby.

"i know! i was so nervous you'd be mad. i think i'm only 4 weeks, but i'm really not sure," i could hear the smile in her voice, and it melted my heart. i pulled away from the hug and touched her stomach over her shirt before looking at her, "can i?"

she giggled and nodded, so i flashed her a quick smile and moved down a bit before lifting up her (my) shirt. i placed soft kisses all around her stomach, making her laugh and bring her hands to my hair.

i spoke softly, almost as if i wasn't trying to scare them, "hey, tiny baby, uhh this is vinnie, your dad. i know we still have a while until we get to meet, but i already love you soooo much. don't give your mama too much trouble, okay? if you're as stubborn as she is, then i know you'll probably-"

lola cut me off by laughing but hitting my arm, "vinnie!"

i grinned and shook my head, "kidding, kidding. your mama is wonderful, and you will be too."

i gave her belly one last kiss before moving back up, resting my hand on it as i pecked her lips. "i love you so much, vinnie."

"i love you so much more, lola bug."

she smiled at me as i rested my body beside her, but looked at the ceiling and her smile suddenly dropped. i furrowed my eyebrows at the sudden change, and wrapped my arms around her waist as i placed a few kisses on her shoulder.

"what are you thinking about?" i hummed, but her eyes didn't move away from the ceiling.

"oh...just how nice it would've been if we had chosen this life. imagine a world like that, huh?"

i woke up and immediately sat up in my bed, almost feeling like i was about to cry as i felt sweaty and bewildered. i looked around and realized i was in my room, the same one i've been in for the past 2 years. i sighed and laid back down, pulling the covers up to my chin.

another dream about her. the second one since i saw her at the damned gas station.

how can i go on with this? i'm in a happy relationship yet dreaming about another girl. i need to do something. i don't know what, but something needs to be done.

i closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep, thinking about the last words my brain came up with before i awakened.

'imagine a world like that.'
