On the ground, the setting light created extensive shadows. A warm orange hue was added to the sky by the sun's slanting rays as it set. Jimin did his magic and persuaded taehyung to accompany them. Here they are yoonmin, taehyung, taehyung's parents, in the middle of a breathtaking forest for camping.

They cautiously rounded the bend and eventually caught a glimpse of their usual spot. Taehyung had a strong sense of loneliness when he jumped out of the truck's front seat, his heart ached to be here with his love, Jungkook. When he turned to look around, all he could see were the trees' shimmering leaves caused by the persistent wind. Newly fallen pinecones covered the forest floor like a blanket. Aside from the birds, they could only hear the golden leaves crunching under their feet.

Tae took a moment to shed all his worries for a moment, he closed his eyes and inhaled the earthy smell that was wandering around the forest. His eyes immediately opened when Jimin's hands wrapped around his shoulder.

"Hey, trust me, your grumpiness will melt away like a popsicle in hell," Jimin smirked as he side-eyed Taehyung, who looked one blink away from a full-on existential crisis.

"What are you even talking about?" Taehyung narrowed his eyes, his suspicion levels slowly rising.

"Come with me, Picasso. Yoongi hyung and your dad have already started setting up our tent," Jimin said, grabbing Taehyung's wrist and dragging him along like he was kidnapping a toddler.

Once they reached the small clearing nestled between tall pine trees, Taehyung blinked. Then blinked again.

"Chim... why are there four tents?"

Jimin didn't answer.

"I mean, one for you and Yoongi hyung, one for mom and dad, and one for me. That's three, unless one of those is for your emotional baggage," he said with a raised brow.

"Okay first of all, rude," Jimin huffed, placing his hands on his hips. "Second, your dad may have forgotten to mention a teensy detail."

Taehyung crossed his arms. "What detail?"

"That he invited Jungkook's parents."

The name alone made Taehyung's spine jolt straight. His head whipped around toward Jimin, lips parting slightly.

"You're joking."

"Nope." Jimin scratched the back of his neck and whispered under his breath, "May the romantic chaos commence."

Before Taehyung could press for answers, the soft sound of tires crunching over gravel filled the air. They both turned toward the road as a black car rolled to a stop under the shade of a tall oak.

The door opened, and Jungkook's parents stepped out first, all smiles and polite waves. Taehyung smiled instinctively and was about to head toward them when he saw the third figure stepping out behind them.

Time stopped.

There he was. Jeon Jungkook. Wearing a black turtleneck and grey pants that fit him too perfectly for anyone's sanity. Hair tousled, face unfairly angelic, and those same obsidian eyes that once felt like home. His heart stuttered as their eyes met. And then it happened.

That smile.

That goddamn bunny smile that had launched a thousand butterflies in Taehyung's chest. His lips parted on instinct. He wanted to run to him, to feel that warmth again. But pride made him plant his feet where they were.

Instead, he walked toward Jungkook's parents with a polite smile and a voice as smooth as silk. "Mom, Dad, I didn't know you were coming. What a nice surprise."
