In Jon's quarters, back at castle black stood Jon Snow who was dressing in pain, and Samwell Tarly who stood behind him. The two were talking about Robb Starks death and his now widowed wife "Last time I saw him, he was in the courtyard at Winterfell. He said, Next time I see you, you'll be all in black. I was jealous of Robb my whole life." Jon tells Sam as he winces in pain "The way my father looked at him, I wanted that. He was better than me at everything... fighting and hunting and riding and girls. Gods, the girls loved him. Princess Joanna married him and had his child and became pregnant with another. I wanted to hate him, but I never could." He finishes but the main thing on his mind was his childhood love Joanna Stark which he regretfully rejected.

"Sometimes I want to hate you." Sam suddenly says with a shrug of his shoulders. Jon turns to him in surprise at his words. "Well, you're better than me at everything. Except reading." He adds on causing Jon to chuckle. If Joanna were there, she would have been better at reading than Sam was; Jon thought to himself. Joanna was a Lannister but from the age of 7 to 9 she spent her life in Winterfell where Catelyn Stark taught her how to read even better than Joanna knew. Catelyn knew the woman struggled with reading and writing and she helped young Joanna as best she could. As a woman, Jon could see how Joanna had the personality traits of a Lion and a Wolf and it always seemed to amaze him.

Thinking back on it, now that the world knows she is of Targaryen descent, he could see the personality traits of the Targaryens in her.

"They're... they're ready for you," Sam tells Jon once things settled down and became serious. Jon picked up his leather armor and walked towards the door.

"He's wanted to hang me for a while. Now's his chance." Jon says to Sam seriously and truthfully

"No one's going to hang you. You've done nothing wrong." Sam explains to Jon who gives him a look

"I've done plenty wrong." And with that, the two men walked out of the room.

......

Jon now stood in front of Janos Slynt, Maester Aemon, and Alliser Thorne. Alliser looks on at Jon with hatred as he questions him. "So you admit you murdered Qhorin Halfhand?"

"I didn't murder him," Jon replies

"No? You put your sword through a brother of the Night's Watch. What do you call that?" Alliser asks him

"He wanted me to kill him," Jon explains

"A bastard son of a traitor. What would you expect?" Janos spat with a roll of his eyes

"The Halfhand believed our only chance to stop Mance was to get a man inside his army," Jon explains once again

"Don't talk about the Halfhand as if you knew him. He was my brother." Alliser softly shouted at Jon who stood there unfazed by the man's sudden outburst.

"Then you'd know he'd do anything to defend the Wall. The free folk would have boiled him alive, but letting me kill him..." Jon starts but was cut off

"The free folk? Listen to him. He even talks like a wildling now." Janos spat

"Aye, I talk like a wildling. I ate with the wildlings. I climbed the Wall with the wildlings. I... I laid with a wildling girl." Jon responds truthfully which causes the men in front of him to widen their eyes for a moment.

"You admit to breaking your vows, then?"

"I do," Jon responded

"The law is the law. The boy must die."

"If we beheaded every ranger who lay with a girl, the Wall would be manned by headless men," Aemon tells Janos but Aemon knew that if Jon was beheaded and Princess Joanna Stark found out, she'd wreak havoc on the entirety of the Night's Watch.
