GREY

Life was full of surprises. Especially Grey's. He'd never expected that he'd bump into Audrey with her little friend... Leah.

Everything built had come crashing down in one moment. One moment, it was lively, funny, and just... nice. Now, it's become boring, and dull as July tried her best to be her funny, extrovert self while Leah had just torn her apart.

It was obvious, that awkwardness wasn't what had set in, it was hostility. Hostility, like a sneaky viper in the thick, tall grass, that was coming up to bite Grey in the behind, but before it could, he'd already decided that he was going to grab it and chop its head off.

"Leah," he snapped. "Stop your shit."

Leah's eyes widened. "Wh-what? But-"

"Shut your mouth. I'm done hearing from you." Grey pulled on July's hand, motioning her to leave along with him. She gave him a confused look but was about done with arguing with her.

"Grey! You can't just-"

"Can't?" he glared at Leah. "I can do whatever the hell I want. Plus, this doesn't concern you."

"We need to talk!" she demanded.

"We'll talk in my free time, now fuck off. We're about to have the time of our lives."

"Ooh! A date?" Audrey burst in.

Grey and July made eye contact with one another at the same time. And, it was like everything came to a brief and sudden pause. Grey's breath became shallow as his palms got sweaty.

A date? A date...?

No. No way. No way in hell. But, he thought about the face Leah would make when she heard the words: "Yeah, so what?"

So he said them, out loud. To her face. To everyone's face.

And unintentionally (or intentionally), he'd flung himself into a world of pain and misery and well... Romance.

"You're lying! You're a liar. Liar. Liar!" Leah screamed, tugging on her hair like a mad woman.

"But even if we are, why does that concern you?" July finally chimed in, and honestly, Grey was shocked. He just kept on underestimating her. "You're neither his girlfriend nor his mother."

Tsssss... Burn.

"Listen here you-" Leah was just about to lunge at July when Grey stepped between them both. His huge frame devoured Leah's hopes of ever seeing July or even touching her.

Grey glared down at the girl. "I don't want anything to do with you, Leah. Nothing, nada, zilch. Get that into your thick skull, will you?"

Her blue eyes got wide.

His blood boiled over. "If you ever try to get in contact with me or my girl, I will tear you to shreds."

There, he said it. And he immediately wished he could take it back.

"My girl"? He'd never called anyone his before. And he might like her but not enough to call her his. But here he was, proclaiming this buffoonery.
