HMCS Ontario's P.O.V
"He started it?" Haida asked me as we sat on a couple of crates next to our docked ships. Around us several other ships were getting ready to head out after the celebrations yesterday while I had begun to talk about last night.
"Yes! It was crazy! He just smashed a cup against Commander Garcia's head out of the blue and from there he was like a person I'd never seen! He began taunting him and even threatened me not to get involved it was scary!"
"That does sound scary. But why did he do that?"
"There has to be bad blood between them. Uh before he struck the Union Commander they were in a fierce argument about people they were leading in the past, It was getting really heated, I'm thinking someone died. Do you know If the Commander was in charge of sailors in the past?"
Haida shook her head and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know anything about him before he took charge of us"
I sighed as I recounted the night, After we left the Commander paid for a Taxi back to the base where he proceeded to finish the bottle he took to intoxicate himself as much as possible before sleeping the night away. He never said much once we left the bar, only a simple goodbye before we parted ways with the bottle glued to his lips.
By now most of the ships had been ready to leave a while ago yet we were still waiting on the Commander who was currently being talked to by the higher-ups. I'm sure It was a stern one too.
"Well damn, Never knew he had a fierce side. Kinda hot in a way" Haida joked with a smirk as I rolled my eyes. "Still, it must be something serious if its able to make the Commander snap"
"Uhuh" I agreed with her. Our conversation came to a pause as the two of us tried to think of what to say next.
I watched as a few ships played a makeshift round of soccer using two crates on each side as the goalposts at the end of the pier. The destroyers kicked the ball around with pure joy as the smiles on their faces still stood strong even after getting hit or taken down by a sliding attempt to take the ball. Even after a goal they reset to their points without a complaint and continued on.
"Oh Oh! There he is!" Haida quickly sprung up from the crate she sat on to point out the commander appearing at the end of the pier. As they soon noticed him too, the destroyers quickly wrapped up their game and hurried along to their ships as he passed them. He was back to his regular look with the commander's cap atop his head and his black turtleneck sweater covering his torso with its sleeves rolled up.
He seemed to pay no attention to the girls he passed as he was conversing with the Monarchy Admiral that walked alongside him. From my view however it didn't look professional, instead it seemed more casual as the Commander seemed to be going off about something and the Admiral was just listening. Suddenly to my surprise the Admiral then smacked him upside the head making him recoil forwards as she pinched the bridge of her nose.
"What the?" I said aloud as Haida and I continued to watch their interaction. The Commander seemed to try and snap back lightly as he held the side of his head but the Admiral simply pointed her finger at him as she told him something.
The Commander's confused look quickly softened as the Admiral spoke to him and it was replaced with a smile. The Admiral smiled back as the Commander shook his head and said something.
