|| The Orphanage || Twice Horror Story

The 7 members desperately ran back towards Momo and Nayeon, hoping they were alright. They turned the corner to find a frightened Momo, crouching on the ground with Nayeon trying to comfort her. 

"What happened?", Jihyo asked as Sana and Mina came rushing to Momo. 

"I don't know! She just screamed out of nowhere!".

"What is it Momo? What happened?", Sana asked Momo while trying to calm her down.

"I s-saw a child, up there", she pointed to the top of the staircase of the second floor.

 The members hearts froze for a second.

"Who... Did you see?" Jeongyeon asked. She could feel her heart beating faster as she waited for a response, hoping it wasn't what she was thinking. 

"I-It was a l-little... girl", Momo hesitated as she saw the look on the girls faces.

"We need to get out of here. NOW", Jihyo shouted. 

"Wait why? What about the chil-" 

"THERE ARE NO CHILDREN LEFT!", Jihyo cut Nayeon off. 

The members began frantically pulling the large door, but it was sealed shut. 

"Break open the windows!", Jeongyeon called out.

The School Meal Club each took turns kicking the windows, but it was as hard as steel. Sana came running in with a piece of wood and began bashing it on the glass. The wood broke before the window did. 

"Shit! We're stuck in here", Jeongyeon panicked. 

"Girls! Please tell me what you saw back there!", Nayeon demanded, still holding onto Momo. 

The 7 members wiped the sweat off of their heads and grouped up to consider whether it was best to tell NaMo or not. They decided that keeping it a secret could be dangerous for them.

"Look,", Jeongyeon turned to Nayeon and Momo, "what I'm about to tell you may freak you out, so I'm warning you now. Promise to stay calm". 

They both looked at each other and agreed. Jeongyeon explained what happened to Lucy.

Momo couldn't contain herself and threw up. 

"This can't be real...", Nayeon was in disbelief. "Do you think the girl that Momo saw was... Lucy?"

"Possibly... But what? Did she see a ghost or something?", Jeongyeon questioned. 

"Well what about the children? Or the teachers? Do you know what happened to them?" 

"Jeongyeon, read the diary. It might tell us what happened.", said Jihyo.

Jeongyeon reopened the diary and continued to read. 

"Dear Diary,

I found their remains. I can't believe I did this. I should've sealed her when I had the chance. It's too late now, but I can prevent this from happening again. Once it reaches midnight, this endless nightmare will be over. Please if anyone is reading this, the seal will not hold her for long! You need to reperform the sealing ritual before it's too late. There is a piece of chalk taped to the back of this diary, along with a photograph of the ritual. Go into the basement and perform the ritual at exactly midnight! Otherwise you will not leave this place alive."

"Who are they talking about? Is this Lucy?", Nayeon asked.  

"No... It's Annie.."

"What? How do you know?" 

Jeongyeon turned the diary around to reveal that Annie's name was signed at the bottom. 

"But I thought she died along with the others!", Chaeyoung gulped. 

"Apparently not. Well at least not at the same time as the others... "

"And who is 'her'? Who is she talking about?", Sana questioned.

"I don't know, but whoever it is must be responsible for this." Jeongyeon explained.

"So it wasn't the teachers?", Mina scratched her head. 

Jeongyeon turned to the back of the diary and found the chalk and photograph. She handed the diary to Sana and analysed the photograph. 

"So this is what we have to perform? Shouldn't be too hard", said Jeongyeon. 

"Easy said than done. It's pitch black in the basement and who knows whats down there!", Nayeon warned.

While 2yeon argued, Sana skimmed through the pages. She stumbled across something that sent chills running down her spine. The words, 'it's a trap' was written in blood. She freaked out and slammed the diary shut. 

"Everything okay, Sana-Unnie?", Tzuyu asked with a worried look. 

"Y-yeah, all good". 

"It's a trap? What does that mean?", Sana thought to herself. 

"Right! You girls ready to do this?", Jihyo called. 

The girls were still traumatised from seeing a corpse. 

"Look, if we don't do this, it's over for us! It's 7:00pm right now, we're running out of time."

One by one they stood up, walking in pairs as Jeongyeon lead the way. 

"But I still don't understand why we're conducting a ritual. Seems a bit... odd.", Dahyun pointed out.

"What do you mean?", Momo asked, still feeling sick.

"Well who or what do you think actually killed Lucy? And the diary mentioned something about a seal. What exactly are we sealing?", Dahyun explained.

"She's right. It doesn't seem like we're dealing with something ordinary.", Chaeyoung added.

"Are you implying that we're dealing with something paranormal?", Momo whimpered.

"Possibly. Or something worse. I mean, look at what happened to Lucy. No human could have done that", Dahyun stated.

"You don't know that! The teachers abused Annie! They were merciless and I'm sure they treated Lucy the same way. They're responsible for this!",  Nayeon grieved while holding back tears. 

"But why did Annie say, 'I can't believe I did this'?", Tzuyu quoted. "She didn't mention anything about the teachers". 

"She's a kid, Tzuyu. Maybe she misspelled something.", Jihyo assured. 

"But her writing style didn't seem like that of a kids. She even explained to us what we had to do with for the ritual! How does she know what a ritual is at her age?", Tzuyu persisted. 

The girls paused and looked at each other. Tzuyu made a good point. 

"M-maybe she read alot of books?", Jihyo hesitated.

"Why would they have satanic books in a bloody orphanage, Jihyo?", Jeongyeon sighed.

"So you're saying... Annie did this?", Momo gulped.

"Let's not assume anything until we find out what really happened.", Sana commented. 

"Alright, we're here." 

There was a small door labelled 'Basement - Teachers only'. 

"Alright, let's split into two groups. One group will stay up here and the rest will go down.", Jihyo ordered. 

They split into two groups. Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Mina, and Dahyun were heading down into the basement. Momo, Sana, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu stayed up.
