There's a part of me that wishes things could've turned out differently.
A part of me wishes things never happened the way they did.
That day just plays on repeat in my head. Sometimes it comes out all fuzzy while other times it's a clear picture.
Her heart was pure, and her eyes held innocence. She loved everyone around her.
I rubbed my forehead in annoyance as I stared at the woman sleeping on the couch opposite me.
She's going through the same thing I am, she's just grieving differently.
She began to stir in her place and mumbled things as she slept.
"Silas?" She mumbled while turning around on the couch. She was facing me, her dark eyebrows furrowing in confusion. She then quickly sat up, rubbing her eyes and looking around the living room. I slowly stood up and kneeled in front of her.
"It was just a dream, go back to sleep," I said softly while laying her back down. I think she didn't have the energy to argue because she went limp in my arms as I fixed her position. I stood back up and sat back in my spot.
"How is she?" Theo whispered while sitting down next to me.
"She could be better," I mumbled. I turned to face him but he was already staring.
"I know we haven't been on the best terms since we went to Greece. And I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry for what I said about Whitney's death," He looked ashamed with himself, apologetic too.
"I was out of line too. I should have said what i said about your wife," he nodded a little bit and sighed.
"How'd she find out about Whitney?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders.
"Don't know," I mumbled while turning to him. He had a baby camera in his hand and was watching his daughter as she slept.
"Has your anxiety gotten any worse?" I asked. He shrugged.
"Don't know," he replied. We stayed silent for a few minutes and I turned to Victoria.
She was so beautiful, her complexion like no other.
I looked away from her and back at Theo.
He was already staring at me.
"Do you like her?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.
"Come on, just answer me," he groaned. I sighed a little and leaned my head back onto the couch.
"I like her, a lot..." I whispered. He smiled and laughed a little.
"You've never fallen for a girl like this. What makes her so special that you couldn't resist her?" He asked while smiling. I shrugged my shoulders a little.
"Why do you ask so many questions?" I questioned while glaring a little.
"Because I'm by myself most days. Well not by myself, I have Eliane but there's only so much I can talk about to a baby, because you know she's a baby and baby's can't talk like adults can," he rambled. When he realised how quickly he was talking he shut his mouth.
"Sorry, I'm just talking for the sake of talking," he apologised while rubbing his eyes. I nodded a little.
He's lonely and it's driving him insane.
"You know, I'm not just a robot who obsesses over work. You can come and talk to me whenever you like," I shrugged. He let out a small sigh as a tiny smile tugged the corner of his lips.
We got silent and it didn't look like Theo was going to open his mouth anymore.
"She's special because she understands me," I said. He looked over at me, giving me all his attention.
