I had awoken to my body curled in a ball. An arm draped around me and warmth framing my body. I blinked and opened my eyes. Someone was speaking angrily then there was an impatient sigh. I listened closely to the speaking person.
“How in the hell do you mess up our order?” there was a small pause. “I only ordered two suits and a dress yet you can not manage to do that correctly.” I moved my head and saw Amilios standing, body tense with anger. “No, get the right items and do not dare get a baby blue dress because it won’t match with her skin. I told you to go with the navy blue. No, Mrs. Peterson, I did not say baby blue. Your employees must have written the wrong-” he stopped mid-sentence. “My fault? Really?” he scoffed. “If you think so shallow, Mrs. Peterson, then I’ll gladly go to a new kept up shop that gets me what I want without blaming me for the misinformation because I don’t give misinformation. I’m a working businessman and I don’t make mistakes nor-” he was quiet again. “No, I can’t afford mistakes, if you can’t understand-″ there was silence. Then, he growled and threw the phone. He turned to pace but his eyes came in contact with mine. I sighed in content, seeing his calming expression taking over. I felt myself still awaken from my sleeping state, the arm around me tightened and I turned to look at Milo. He was still fast asleep.
“Good after noon, sweet Lilly,” Amilios stated.
“Is everything alright?” I asked. His attire had changed.
“Yes, just an arrogant woman who will not shut up.”
“Sounds like normal people.” He smiled and walked around the bed to me. He cupped my face and his eyes darted from me to Milo.
“He should wake up,” Amilios replied. “Milo, wake up.”
Milo mumbled words that weren’t English.
“Milo was leaving without you,” I whispered. “We get onto the plane in 30 minutes.”
“What? Were flying?” his eyes opened with panic.
Amilios sighed and turned. “No, but get up because you trapped Lilly against you and I’m sure she is not appreciating your loud snoring.”
“I don’t snore that loud,” Milo groaned.
“Yes you do, now go take a shower before we go.”
“Have you got a hold of when they are shipping our suits?” Milo asked as he rolled out of bed and shuffled through clothes.
“Yes, they got Lillian’s dress wrong, saying we ordered baby blue instead of navy.”
“Wasn’t that what we agreed on? I called them to tell them baby blue,” Milo turned towards Amilios.
“What?” he glared at Milo. “Does baby blue look like it matches her skin?” They both looked at me closely. Milo slowly licked his lips.
“Yes, baby blue would make her eyes pop and her skin look paler,” Milo replied.
“No, it would give her the sickened look as if she had just gone through the flu,” Amilios spat annoyedly.
“I’ve worn baby blue before,” I said. They both looked at me. “And navy blue. The baby blue made my skin look darker but didn’t make my eyes pop. Though, the navy blue made my skin look lighter and made my eyes pop.”
