"I swear this case is stressing me out so bad." Rahnique told Kenai as they walked through Walmart.
"You needa take a vacation, no way I'm busting my ass for any job."
Rahnique stale faced her and stopped the cart next to the shelves stacked with cereal.
"Trust me I promised I wouldn't let work consume me again but I can't tank this case. Right now her pimp is my biggest problem."
Kenai side eyed her and arched an eyebrow. "Sounds like trouble. Whats the issue?"
They picked up two boxes of cereal and placed them in the cart before continuing to another aisle.
"We got his girl on some serious charges. I know he's gonna make trouble to get her out even though I got her bail set high."
Kenai shook her head and sighed. "I don't know why you bother, those girls never turn on em. No matter how good of a prosecutor you think you are."
Rahnique eyed her at the last comment before turning and picking up some juice and sodas.
"I know I'm good, I just gotta apply myself."
They finished their shopping and packed everything into Kenai's car then headed back to her apartment.
Sierra stayed back to do her hair since her wig had gotten messed up from Reginae's party.
After going to her apartment to meet Von she went back to Kenai. No one was awake when she came back and she was glad.
She was pissed off because Von had ordered her around and there was nothing she could do about it.
In the real world he ran things, the only power she had was in court.
"Did you guys get the steak?" Sierra asked as she helped them unpack the bags.
Rahnique sifted through the bags holding the meat before pulling out the steak. "Yup, lotta money right here. You sure you know what you doing?"
Sierra had decided she wanted to cook which made Rahnique skeptical. She wasn't judgemental but Sierra seemed a little too erratic to know her way around a kitchen, much less a $200 steak.
"Girl relax I ordered a cook book, if I do exactly what it says I can't mess up."
"Okay." Rahnique shrugged. She picked her phone up and checked the time seeing it was almost 1:30. Von's words from earlier came back to her and she sighed.
"I gotta get to the office and sort something out real quick. I'll be back in time for dinner."
"Layla come onnnn." Kenai groaned. "You always at work."
